• THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF
FIREMEN'S PENSION & RELIEF FUND
The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Firemen's Pension &. Relief
Fund of Fayetteville, Arkansas, was held in the City Clerk's Office on Monday
October 4, 1965, at 4:45 P. M.
Present: Chairman, Mayor Guy E. Brown, Secretary George J. Davis, and Fire
Chief Burlolkelton, and Board members Arthur CasBlman and Dokle Morrison.
Absent: City Treasurer Albert J. Jones and Board Members: Bill Harris and
Clarence Tune.
The minutes of the regular meeting on Tuesday, September 7, 1965, were read and
approved.
The Secretary presented the authorization form to pay the September Pensions,
Mr. Caselman moved that the disbursembnts be allowed. The motion was seconded by
Mr. Morrison and upon roll call the following vote was recorded: "Aye" Skelton,
Caselman and Morrison. "Nay" Prone.
There being three "Ayes" and no "Nays", the Chairman declared the motion passed.
The Secretary reported that it was necessary at this time to vote on the millage
for the 1965 tax distribution.
The Secretary reperted that at present the Pension payroll was $10,230.24 Y� paers�
• year and that six more Firemen were eligible for retirement during 1966 which
would hdd an additional $6,180.00 to the Pension payroll -for a total of $16,410.24
per year.
He further reported that during the ,year 1964 the 1/2 mill tax levy paid into the
Pension Fund the sum of 08,632.12, but there might be a little increase for this
year,
After a brief discussion, Mr. Caselman moved to raise the tax levy from 1/2 mill
to&'' ill and authorize the Secretary to write a letter to the City Coun i1
requesting the annual levy of*� ll on the'dollar of the assessed valu;the
real and personal property within s$w city, be placed in the budget for 1966.
The motion was seconded by Mr. Morrison and upon roll call the following vote was
redorded "Aye" Skelton, Caselman and Morrison. "Nay" None.

There being no further business, Mr. Morrison moved to adjourn. The motion was
seconded by Mr. Caselman and Fzssed unanimously, whereupon the Chairman declared
the meeting adjourned.

Gentlemen:
Due to the expected ratirement,of six Firemen during the next 1.2 months
thereby increasing the Firements Pension Payroll an additional $6pl8O*O0 per
E -ears the Board of Trustees of The Firetents Pension and Relief Fund has voted
to request that the Tax Levy for The Firemen's Pension & Relief Fund be increased
from one mill,
At present the pension payroll is $10,234.24 per yoar and with the increase:.
the total pension will be $16,410.24 per year.
During the Year of 1964, the Firemen's Pension & Relief Fund received the
sum of $8,632.12 from 1/2 mill levy.
