HomeMy WebLinkAbout1963-08-05 MinutesKNUTES OF • REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF FIREMEN'S PENSION & RELIEF FUND The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Firemen's Pension & Relief F1ma was held in the aty Clerk's Office on Monday, August 5, 1963 at 145 P.M. Present: Chairman Guy E. Brown, Secretary George J. Davis, Fire Chie£ )B:lrl Skelton, and Board Members: Bill Norris, Arthur Caselman, and Doyle Mrrison. Absent: TFeaauxr Roy Nix, Board Member: Bill Harris The minutes of the Regular meeting on Monday July 1, 1963 were read and approved. The Secretary pressnted the Authorization Plan to pay the July Pensions. Mr. Morrison moved that the disbusements be allowed. The motion seconded by Mr. Skelton and upoh roll callthe following vote was recorded: "Aye" Skelton, Morris, Caselman, and Morrison. "Nay" None. There being four "Ayes" and no "Nays" the chairman declared the motion passed. The Sec etary reported that he had received a check from a State InsuranceCommission (State kLitor) in the amount of $7,785.81 and that thepension fund also bad a series of U.S. G Bonds Maturing on August 20, 1963, in the amount of $13,500ri which coU8 be invested as the Pension IDard desired. After a long discussion , Mr. Morrison moved that Mayor Guy E. Brown and Acting Treasurer Albert J. Jones be authorized to cash the U.S. Binds at maturity date in the amount of $13,500 and that the Secretary be and he is hereby authorized to invest the sum of $10,000 in Savings & Loan Stock with one of the three remaining Savings & Loan Comapnies in Fort Smith, Ark, •Bearing interest at the rate of 4� %-�sper. annum. The motion was seconded by "'r. Morris and upon roll call the following vote was recorded. "Aye" Morris, Caselman, Morrison. "Nay" None "Abstaining" Skelton. There being there "Ayep"No "Nays" and only one "Abstaining" the ch#hnan declared the motion passed. There being no further business Mr. Morrison moved to adjourn.
