HomeMy WebLinkAbout1961-09-11 MinutesMINUTES OF • THE FIREMEN'S PENSION & RELIEF FUND BOARD OF TRUSTEES The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Firgmen'a Pension & Relief Fund of Fayetteville, Arkansas, was held in the pity Clerk's office on Monday, September 11, 1961: Present: Chairman Mayor'Guy E. Brown, Secretary George J.,Davis,- Fire Chief Burl Skelton, and -Board Members: Frank Johnson, Arthur Caselman and Doyle Morrison. Absent: Treasurer Roy Nix and Board Member Bill Morris. The minutes of'the regular meeting on Monday, August 7, 1961, were read and approved. The Secretaby presented the authorizatioo pay the August pensions. Mr. Morrison moved the disbursements be Alowedo The motion was seconded by Mr. Skelton and upon roll call the following vote was recorded: "Aye" Skelton, Johnson, Caselman, and Morrison. "Nay" None. There being four "Ayes" and no "Nays", the Chairman declared the motion passed. The Secretary reported that it was near time to report to the City Controller whether or not the one-half mill tax levy was needed by the Firemen for the year of 1962 as had been Ustributed for the past few years. . • Mr. Skelton moved to request the def one=half mill taxes on City property and that the Secretary be authorized to write a letter to the City Controller requesting this to be placed in the budget for 1962. The motion was seconded by fir. Johnson and upon roll call the following vote was recorded: "Aye" Skelton,, Johnson, Caselman, and Morrison. "Nay" None. There'being four "Ayes" and no "Nays", the Chairman declared the motion passed. The Secretary reported that he had invested the sum of $70500.00 in Savings & Loan Stock with the First Federal Savings & Loan Association, Ft. Smith, Arkansas, as authorized by the Board on Monday, August 7, 1961. There being no further business, Mr. Morrison moved to adjourn.
