The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Firemen's Pension
and Relief Fund was held in the City Clerkts Office on Tuesday,
January 3, 1961, at 4:45 P.M.
Present: Chairman Mayor Guy E. Brown, Secretary George J. Davis,
Fire Chief Burl Skelton, and Board Members: Ellis Poore, Bill Morris,
And Arthur Caselman. Absent: Treasurer Roy Nix and Board Member
Doyle Morrison,.
The minutes of the regular meeting on Monday, December 5, 1960, were
read and approved.
The Secretary presented the authorization form to pay the Decerpber
pensions.
Mr. Morris moved the disbursements be allowed. The motion was seconded
by Mr. Skelton and upon roll call the following vote was recorded:
"Aye" Skelton, Poore, Morris, and Caselman. "Nay" None.
There being four "Ayes" and no "Nays", the Chairman declared the
motion passed.
The Secretary reported that he had received a check for $1,396.33 as
the final distribution of the taxes for 1959 and that a surplus was
now available in the checking fund to purchase stock in Savings and
Loan in the amount of $1,500.00 if the Board so desired.
After a brief discussion, Mr. Poore moved that the Secretary be and
he is hereby authorized to invest $11500.00.in 6avings & Loan Stock
with the Springdale Savings & Loan Association, Springdale, Arkansas.
The motion was seconded by Mr. Morris and upon roll call the following
vote was recorded: "Aye" Skelton, Poore, Morris, and Caselman. "Nay"None.
There being four "Ayes" and no "Nays", the Chairman declared the motion
passed.
There being no further business, Mr. Poore moved to adjourn. The motion
was seconded by Mr. Caselman and passed unanimously, whereupon the
Chairman declared the meeting adjourned.
