THE FIREMEN'S PENSION & RELIEF FUND
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
The regular meeting of the Bo4rd of Trustees of the Firemen's Pension
and Relief Fund of Fayettevill5e, Arkansas, was held in the Oity
Clerk's Offiee on Monday, August 1, 1960, at 4:45 P.M.
Present: Chairman Mayor Guy E. Brown, Secretary George J. Davis, and
Board Members: Bill Morris, Arthur Caselman,,Ellis Poore, and
Doyle Morrison.
Absent: Fire Chief Burl Skelton and Treasurer Roy Nix.
The minutes of the regular meeting on Tuesday, July 5, 1960, were
read and approved.
The Secretary presented the authorization form to pay the July
Pensions. Mr. Morris moved the disbursements be allowed.
The motion was seconded by Mr. Poore and upon roll call the following
vote was recorded: "Aye"Morris, Caselman, Poore, and Morrison.
"Nay" None. There being four "Ayes" and no "Nays°, the Chairman
declared the motion passed.
The Secretary reported that he had received a check from the State of
Arkansas Insurance Department in the amount of $8097.84 and that of
this amount $7,600.00 could be invested as the Board of Trustees
• desired.
He further reported that 34,600.00 could be invested in First Federal
Savings & Loan Stock in Rogers, Arkansas, which would increase the
investment in that Company to the full amount of $$10,000.00 allowdd.
He also reported that he had a letter together with a Financial
Report from the Springdale Savings & Loan Association; a Federal
Insured Corporation,"asking the board to invest with them.
This Company pays 4% interest which is the same as the other Invest-
ment Companies.
Mr. Morrison moved that the Secretary be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to invest the sum of $4,600.00 with the First Federal
Savings & Loan Co. in Rogers, Arkansas (bringing the total investment
to $$10,000.00 with that Company) and the sum of $3,000.00 with the
Springdale Savings & Loan Association of Springdale, Arkansas.
The motion was seconded by Mr. Poore and upon roll call the following
vote was recorded: "Aye" Morris, Caselman, Poore, and Morrison.
"Nay" None. There being four "Ayes" and no "Nays", the Chairman
declared the motion passed.
There being no further business, Mr. Poore moved to adjourn. The motion
was seconded by Mr. Morris and passed unanimously, whereupon the
Chairman declared the meeting adjourned. �
