HomeMy WebLinkAbout1959-02-02 MinutesMINUTES • OF THE FIREMEN'S RELIEF & PENSION FUND BOARD OF TRUSTEES The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Firemen's Relief & Pension Fund was held in the City Clerk's Office on Monday, February 2, 1959, at 4:45 P. M. Present: Chairman Mayor J. Austin Parish, Secretary George J. Davis, Treasurer Roy Nix, Fire Chief Burl Skelton,and Board Members: Doyle Morrison, Ellis Poore, Bill Morris, and Arthur Caselman, Absent None. The minutes of the regular meeting on Monday, January 5, 19590 were read and approved. The Secretary presented the authorization form to pay the January Pensions. Mr. Morrison moved the disbursements be allowed. The motion was seconded by Mr. Poore and upon roll call the follow- ing vote was,recorded: "Aye" Skelton, Morrison, Poore, Morris, and Caselman. "Nay" None. There being five "Ayes" and No "Nays", the Chairman declared the motion passed. The Secretary reported that,there was not enough funds in the checking account of the Firemen's Relief & Pension Fund to pay the February Pensions unless the Firemen's Contributions would finish • the payment and it might be necessary to either draw some on the Savings Account now on deposit or cash some Building and Loan Stock. Mr. Skelton moved that the Secretary be and he is hereby authorized to trhnsferw the money now in the Savings Account of the Firemen's to i^Relief & Pension Fund to the checking for payment of the pensions. The motion was seconded by Mr. Caselman and upon roll call the follow- ing vote was recorded: "Aye" Skelton, Morrison, Poore, Morris, and Caselman. "Nay" None. There being Five "Ayes" and no "Nays" the Chairman declared the motion passed. Fire Chief Burl Skelton reported that at present the Fire DEpartment was two firemen short of the required number and that no applications were on file. A short discussion followed but no action was taken. There being no further business•, Mir. Morris moved to adjourn.
