HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958-03-03 Minutes• • 40 MINUTES OF THE FIREMEN'S RELIEF AND PENSION FUND BOARD OF TRUSTEES The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees and Pension Fund was held in the City Clerk's 1958; at 5:00 P.M. Present: Secretary George J. Davis, Treasurer Skelton, and Board Members: Ellis Poore, Bill and Doyle Morrison. Absent: Chairman Mayor J. Austin Parish. of the Firemen's; Relief office on Monday, Mardh 3, Roy Nix, Fire Chief Burl Morris, Arthur Caselman, The minutes of the regubar meeting on February,3, 1958, were read and approved. In the absence of Chairman Mayor J. Austin Parish, Fire Chief Burl Skelton acted as Chairman. The Secretary presented the authorization form to pay the February Pensions. Mr. Morrison moved that the disbursements be allowed. The motion was seconded by Mr. Morris and upon roll call the following vote was recorded: "Aye" Poore, Morris, Skelton, Morrison, and Caselman. "Nay", None. There being five "Ayes" and no "Nays", the Chairman declared the motion passed. Mr. Skelton reported that Mrs. fess Walters had passed away on Friday, February 28, 1958 and that her pension check for February had been allowed, subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees. Mr. Poore moved to approve this allowance. The motion was seconded by Mr. Caselman and upon roll call the following vote was recorded: "Aye", Skelton, Poore, Morris, Cakelman, and Morrison. "Nay" None. There being five "Ayes:" and No "Nays", the Chairman declared the motion passed. Mr. Skelton reported that he had also checked on the financial condition of Mrs. Jess Walters and that no help was needed from the Firemen's Relief and Pension Fund for Funeral Expenses,0tc. Mr. Poore moved that the Secretary, Treasurer, and Mr. Morrison be appointed to select and order some new forms for checks to be used by the Firemen's Relief and Pension Fund and to destroy the remaining old forms now in use, when the new ones are received. the motion was s8conded by Mr. Morris and passed unanimously. There being no further business, Mr. Poore moved to adjourn. The motion was seconded by Mr. Caselman and passed unanimously, whereupon the Chairman declared the meeting adjourned.
