BOARD OF TRUSTEES
The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Firemen's Relief and
Pension Fund was held in the Mayor's Office, Monday August 6, 1956.
Present: Chairman, Mayor Roy A. Scott, Secretary, Albert J. Jones,
Treasurer, Roy Nix, Fire Chief Burl Skelton, and Board Members: Doyle
Morrison, Ellis Poore, Bill Morris, and Arthur Caselman.
Minutes of the July 9, 1956 meeting were read and approved.
Fire Chief Burl Skelton moved that the Board commend the Secretary for
the financial report he had prepared for the Board Members. The motion was
seconded by Doyle Morrison and passed unanimously.
Mayor Roy A. Scott then presented the letter he had from Doctor Stoker
stating that Fireman John E. Lewis would be sufficiently recovered to resume
his duties August 7, 1956. The letter was referred to the Secretary to be
filed in Fireman Lewis's personnel folder.
Treasurer, Roy Nix presented to the meeting the authorization form to
pay the July pensions and to purchase $2000. 00 in U. S. Government Series
"K" Bonds. Bill Morris moved that the disbursements be allowed. The motion
was seconded by Arthur Caselman and upon roll call by the Secretary the
• following vote was recorded: "Yeas", Morrison, Poore, Morris, Caselman,
and Skelton. "Nays", none. Whereupon the Chairman declared the motion
passed as there were five !'Yeas" and no "Nays."
Mayor Roy A. Scott requested Fire Chief Burl Skelton to file a claim
with the City for the use of his private car during the period the City owned
vehicle was being repaired. Chief Skelton declined stating that he had received
his gas, �M and a grease job at the City Shop during the time he had used his
automobile.
The Secretary then outlined to the meeting whereby it would be to the
Firemen's Relief and Pension Fund's Advantage if $500. 00 was placed in a
savings account. Chief Skelton moved that $500. 00 be placed in a savings
account in the First National Bank. The motion was seconded by Ellis Poore
and passed unanimously.
There being no further business, Fire Chief Burl Skelton moved to ad-
journ. Motion was seconded by Ellis Poore and the Chairman declared the
meeting adjourned.
