MEMBERS PRESENT: Neal Albright, Tommie Perkins, Lonnie Meadows, and Fred Sherman. OTHERS PRESENT: Elizabeth Ashworth, owner of City Liquor store; Chap Replogle with Quality Portable Buildings; Mickey Jackson, Fire Chief; Freeman Wood, Inspection Superintendent; Alett Little, Planning Management Director; and Rosilee Mugley, Senior Inspection Clerk. The meeting was called to order at 4:33 p.m. The variance was submitted by Elizabeth Ashworth, owner of City Liquor store to build a 14' x 24' wood structure addition to the liquor store. The addition is to be used solely as a cooler. The problem with the wood structure is that the liquor store is located in a fire zone. Type VI, wood frame construction, is not allowed in the fire zone. In similiar situations variances have been granted to allow type VI construction in the fire zone if there is a permanant open space around the structure of 3o' or more. In Ms. Ashworth's case, there is at least forty feet to the property line and no other buildings immediately adjacent to her property. Discussion was held on the various ways the room could be constructed using metal studs. The way the room is designed metal studs would be very costly to use and would be a problem to maintain the correct temperature because of the insulation requirement since the room is to be used as a cooler only. Fred Sherman made a motion to grant the variance since the building has more than forty feet to the property line. Neal Albright seconded the motion. A vote was called for and the motion passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 4:45 p.m. • • • NOTICE OF APPEAL TO BUILDING BOARD OF AJDUSTMENTS AND APPEALS NAME rt„--1 DATE ADDRESS 7%- /"-- A , dj HOME PHONE 6,744- ?-josT2-- ADDRESS OF PROPERTY WHERE VARIANCE REQUESTED: /4/3-F . 7 c/1.00/ 7( 64gt1 fev1/lei fir LEGAL ESCRIPTION OF P/gROPERTY WHERE VARIANCE REQUESTED: Pi-, /4 Ai F7-. 66c,72 l TW /4 ill)f2yel 300 VARIANCE REQUESTED: RJ Aif, /0 1-0 11 y /r a v • 7a- 7 / BUSINESS PHONE `77 SW/T REASONS FOR REQUESTING VARIANCE: is Nd7 ;mtri4-e/7 401i/9ccivt /0 &Mgir /en Q ' /4/ 1 ro e•rq i es, INTERPRETATION OF BUILDING OFFICIAL APPEALED FROM: ohQ -1/19pEC±or S/ s REASONS DECISION OF BUILDING OFFICIAL SHOULD BE MODIFIED OR REVERSED: i 07- (re Y` Pre i9 -4Lx1/2-Z( Signature trori e w -'i-!
