OF THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION
September 2, 2005
A meeting of the Civil Service Commission was held on September 2 at 8:30 AM
in Room 111.
Present: Commissioners Coppinger, Bittle, Adelman, Hart and Brown
Absent: Commissioners Ledford and Augustine
The purpose of the meeting was to review a request from the Fire Department to
extend the temporary appointment of Kevin Murray to the position of Battalion
Chief for an additional 60 days.
Commissioner Battle made a motion to extend the temporary appoint Kevin
Murray to the position for 60 days. The temporary appointment is unique to this
situation and the Commission acknowledges the degree of emergency which
requires this personnel action. Commissioner Brown seconded and the motion
carried. The motion carried and the appointment was approved for an additional
60 days. The appointment will expire on October 25.
Commissioner Brown made a motion to adjourn. Commissioner Bittle seconded
and the meeting was adjourned.
