OF THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION
April 26, 2004
A meeting of the Civil Service Commission was held on April 26, 2004 at 8:30 AM in
the Room 111 of the Fayetteville Administration Building.
PRESENT: Commissioners Bittle, Coppinger, Middleton, Ledford, Adelman
ABSENT: Commissioners Tune, Brown
The Commission met to elect new officers for 2004 and conduct entry level Police
Officer oral interviews.
The meeting was called to order at 8:30am by Chairman Bittle. A discussion was
held regarding applicant Daniel Baker who was scheduled for interview. Mr. Baker
was currently on the certification list not due to expire until October of 2004.
Commissioner Augustine made a motion that Mr. Baker not be interviewed since the
current Civil Service Rules do not allow him to test while on the current certification
list. Commission Adelman seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
Chairman Bittle opened the meeting for discussion regarding new officers for the
coming year. Commissioner Augustine made a motion that the current officers
should remain in place for an additional year. Commissioner Adelman seconded and
the motion carried. Commissioner Bittle will remain Chairman of the Civil Service
Commission for 2004 and Commissioner Coppinger will continue to hold the office of
Secretary of the Civil Service Commission for 2004.
The Commission moved into executive session to conduct entry level police officer
interviews.
