OF THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION
May 6, 2003
A meeting of the Civil Service Commission was held on May 6, 2003 at 9:00 AM in
Room 111 of the City Administration Budding at 113 W Mountain St., Fayetteville, AR.
PRESENT: Commissioners Tune, Ledford, Coppinger, Bittle, Middleton, Adleman and
Augustine
ABSENT. none
The session was called to order by Commission Chairman Middleton. The Commission
reviewed Chapters 50 and 51 of the Arkansas State Code regarding Civil Service
Commissions.
Commissioner Larry Bittle made a motion that in the absence of the Chairman of the
Commission, the Secretary be empowered to sign any documents requiring the
signature of the Civil Service Commission Chairman. Commissioner Buddy Ledford
seconded and the motion carried.
Commissioner Bittle recommended that the Commission set June 10, 2003 as the date •
for the Joseph Tortorello hearing. The hearing is to be held in room 219 at 9:OOam.
Commissioner Augustine nominated Larry Bittle as the new Chairman of the
Commission. Commissioner Tune seconded and the motion carried.
Commissioner Ledford nominated Steven Coppinger for the position of Civil Service
Commission Secretary. Commissioner Augustine seconded and the motion carried.
Commissioner Augustine made a motion to adjourn. Commissioner Tune seconded and
the motion carried.
