HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-12-03 MinutesMINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL DECEMBER3, 2001• - • /,000557 A Special meeting of the City Council was held on December 3, 2001, at 5:30p.m. in Room 219 of the City Administration Building located at 113 West Mountain, Fayetteville, Arkansas. PRESENT: Mayor Coody; Aldermen Lionel Jordan, Robert Reynolds, Brenda Thiel, Cyrus Young, Trent Trumbo, Randy Zurcher late, City Attomey Kit Williams, City Clerk Heather Woodruff, Staff, Press and Audience. - Mayor 'Coody stated that we have a request before the council to cut a check to First Transit out of Memphis to keep the Dial -A -Ride and the Transportation System going. Hugh Earnest stated last week at the meeting of the Ozark Regional Transit there was a general mention from the president of Ozark Regional Transit, Judge•Hunton, that there was a cash flow problem. Mr. Toby, First Transit, has requested assistance in meeting payroll for the agency for this week. It was hisunderstanding that Bentonville, Springdale, Rogers have also kicked in. He explained there had been a change from the Community Resource Group to Ozark. He recommend that this be pass and assured the council that the staff would be carefully monitoring the activity associated with this Transit Board in first quarter of next year. He noted this was simply an advanced allocation of our expenditure. of 2002. This was not additional monies being requested . It was simply attended as an advance against the appropriation you will be making in the 2002 Budget. In response to questions, Mr Earnest stated this was not above the appropriation for next year. The request from Ozark Regional Transit was for $49,000 dollars.
