A special meeting of the Fayetteville City Council was held on
Tuesday, July 26, 1994, at 4:30 p.m. in the Room 326 of the City
Administration Building, 113 W. Mountain, Fayetteville, Arkansas.
PRESENT: Mayor Fred Hanna; Aldermen Len Edens, Joe Box, Stephen
Miller, Kit Williams, Conrad Odom, and Woody Bassett;
City Attorney Jerry Rose; City Clerk Sherry Thomas; City
Treasurer Glyndon Bunton; Administrative Services
Director Ben Mayes; Planning Director Alett Little;
Public Works Director Kevin Crosson; members of staff,
press, and audience.
ABSENT: Aldermen Vorsanger and Daniel,

CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Hanna called.the'meeting to order.ciith six'aldermen present.
CITY CLERK APPOINTMENT

Mayor Hanna stated City Clerk Sherry Thomas' last day is July 29,
1994. There were 5 applicants for this position. One was received
too late and one applicant withdrew. He stated a committee
consisting of himself, Don Bailey, Ben Mayes, and Jerry Rose
interviewed the candidates.
Traci Paul, who works in Planning Department, has been selected to
fill this position. Mayor Hanna stated the Council passed an
ordinance in March that a new city official would start at the
bottom of the salary range. He suggested the Council might want to
look into this at a later date.
