The City Manager had contacted several other agencies and they have all agreed to contribute a certain amount of money toward the total cost of the project. The City must agree to t he project by July 1 and send with the agreement a checkfbr ' $200.00. The rest of the money would not be due until 1970. Director Melton moved that the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with the Bureau of the Census, Department of Commerce,fbr a city -block type census tabulation during the 1970 regular census, and that a check in the amount of $200.00 down payment toward the total project cost of $1,250 also be authorized, and submitted with contract, the remainder due by Januray, 1,19$0, . Authorize Albert Jones The City Manager reported that he planned to take a two weeks vacation beginning June 10,1968 and to act as Citp Manager he recommended that City Controller, Albert J. Jones, be authorized to act as City Manager duringhis During vacation of absence, City Manager Director Kerlin-moved•that the -City Controller, Albert J. Jones, be authorized to act as City Manager I during the ^absence of the City Manager, Gerald G. Fox, for the two weeks of his vacation. Attorney General's The City Manager reported that a petition had been filed with the City Clerk requesting a Referendum Vot Opinion requested for the repeal of City Ordinance No. 1603 and that it was necessary to get an Opinion from the Attorney Re Referendum General of Arkansas as to how many legal signatures were needed on this petition. Petition. (This was necessary because there were no contests in the Directors Election in November, 1966, and the votes were not tabulated) Director Melton moved that the City Manager and the City Attorney be and they are hereby authorized to write the Attorney General of the State of Arkansas for. an opinion on this question and report at the next regular meeting of the Directors. WHEREAS, the City of Fayetteville by Resolution 16-67 authorized an application to be submitted to the Arkansas Planning Commission for an Urban Planning Assistance Grant of $6,141 toward a total project cost of $9,212; and WHEREAS, such project (ARK. P-91) and grant were approved by the Department of Housing and Urban e= Development; and WHEREAS, the City and Arkansas Planning Commission desire this work to be handled by a Planning Consultant acceptable to both parties; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF7FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: THAT, the Urban Planning -Assistance Grant in the amount of $6,141 as_approved under Project Ark.
