present) The minutes of the regalar meeting on Monday June 6th, 1967, a copy of which had previously been mailed to
each of the Directors, were approved as written.
The City Manager presented the petition of Helen Edmiston and Jere F. Block to rezone certain real estate
located between Ash Street and Sycamore Street and West of the St. Louis and San Francisco Railroad
from I -1A Light Industrial District, to R-3 Multi -Family District, which had been approved by the Planning
Commission.
Ordinanee No. 1549. After a brief discussion, the City Attorney introduced, and,at the request of the Mayor, read a proposed
ordinance in its entirety entitled,"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1239, AND REVISED ZONING
DISTRICT MAP OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS, APPROVED MAY 28, 1962; AS AMENDED, TO REZONE CERTAIN REAL ESTATE

The motion was seconded by Director McFerran and passed unanimously.
The Ordinance was then read for the second time.
The Mayor then declared the Oridnance open for discussion. After a brief discussion, Director Christie moved
that thexule be further suspended and the Ordinance placed on the third and final reading.
The motion wasseconded by Director McFerrandand passed unanimously.
The Ordinance was then readibr the third and last time.
The Mayor then asked the question, "Shall the Ordinance pass?"

WHEREAS, a public hearing was held before the Planning Commission of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,
on June 6, 1967, on the petition of Heldn Edmiston and Jere F. Block, requesting that said Planning Commissi

ORDINANCE FIXING THE SALARY OF THE MUNICIPAL JUDGE OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS, AND AMENDING FAYETTEVILLI
DE OF ORDINANCES, SECTION 14-3.
WHEREAS, by Act 278 of 1967, Acts of Arkansas, the General Assembly has authorized the Municipal Judge,of the
ty of Fayetteville, Arkansas, to receive an annual salary in the sum of $11,500.00, upon the approval•oflthe .County
urt of Washington County and the Board of Directors of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and
WHEREAS, by reason of the increased work load of the Municipal Court in recent yearsyp and the steady increase
the cost of living, the Boafd of Directors deem the present salary of the Municipal Judge inadequate toi compensate
d officer for the work and services required of his office and believe it is in the public interest to increase
d officer's salary to the amount authorized by the General Assembly, and
WHEREAS, the County Judge of Washington County, Arkansas has approved said increase in salary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT•ORDAINED BY•THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That Section 14-3 of the Fayetteville Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read:
Sec. 14-3. Same -Salary. •
The annual salary of the Municipal Judge is hereby fixed at Eleven Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($11
which salary shall be payable in twelve (12) equal monthly installments.
SECTION 2. -That said -salary change shall be•effective as of July 1, 1967.
SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and

ORDINANCE NO. 1%j2
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FAYETTEVILLE CODE OF•ORDINANCES TO PROVIDE FOR THE COLLECTION EW FEES FOR CRIMINAL PROSECUTL
TRIED BY THE CITY ATTORNEY, AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, by Act 431 of 1967, Acts of Arkansas, the General Assembly has authorized cities df the first class to
provide by Ordinance for the assessment of fees for all prosecutions tried by the City Attorney for violations of
Ordinances of the City and for all prosecutions tried by the City Attorney for violations o£,state laws comnitted
within the corporate limits of said cities, such fees to be the same fees as are allbwed Prosecuting Attoineys in the
State in all criminal cases, and
WHEREAS, Act 43;j. further provides that in cities of the first class, where the City Attorney is paid a salary, I the City may collect said fees and apply the same as the governing body may direct.
NOW2 THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF. THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances, City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, is hereby amended by adding i section
to be numbered Section 14-7, which,soctibn shall read as follows:
Sec. 14-7 Fees in Prosecution Tried by the City Attorney:
(a) For all prosecutions tried by the City Attorney for violations of Ordinances of the City t;y

Ordinance No, and for all prosecutions tried by the City Attorney for violations of State laws committed within the
1552 Continued corporate limits of the City, resulting in conviction, the defendants shall be taxed the same fees as
are allowed prosecuting attorneys in this state in all criminal cases.
' (b) All fees collected under this section whether the case be tried in the Municipal Court or on appef
to the Circuit Court, or Supreme Court, shall be paid over to the City Treasurer for applicationas the
Board of Directors may direct.
SECTION 2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval
and publication.

Discussion on The City Manager presented an Administrative Memo in which he gave a complete analysis of the Sanitati,
Sanitation system with recommendations for improvements.
After a long discussion, Director Melton moved to expand present residential collection routes from se'
Instruct City. to nine, expand service area and work on a 40 hour week continuing to collect twice,a week from the
Attorney to ;prepare rear of homes using brush truck for trash collections from street on a call...basis and expanding this
Ordinances regarding to two vehicles and crews. Each of the nine crews would be required to service 825 customers twice
