N.W�Times Reporter The minutes of the regular meeting on Monday, April 17, 1967, a copy of which had previously been mailed present as each of the Directors, were approved as written News Rep, The City Manager read a proposed ordinance which had been left on its first reading at the last regular meeting of the Board of Directors on April 17, 1967, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF OAK MAN, Ordinance SUBDIVISION TO OAK MANOR ADDITION, AND FOR REIATED PURPOSES", No. 1539 Director Christie moved that the Rule be suspended and that the Ordinance be placed on the third and fine reading. The motion was seconded by Diredtor Swartz and upon roll call the following vote was recorded, "Aye" Swartz, McFerran, Melton, Christie, Trumbo, and Dunn. "Nay" None. There being Six "Ayes" and No."Nays". the Mayor declared the motion passed. The Ordinance was then read for the third and last time. The Mayor then declared the.Ordinance open for discussion. There being no discussion, the Mayor asked the question, "Shall the Ordinance pass?" ORDINANCE N0. 1539 AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF OAK MANOR DIVISION TO OAK MANOR ADDITION, AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES, WHEREAS, BY Ordinance No. 1402 of July 20. 1964, the city of Fayetteville. Arkansas accepted the plat of lands known as Oak Manor Subdivision to the city of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and said plat was recorded on August 25,1964 in the plat book at page163 in the office of the Circuit Clerk and ex -officio Recorder of 1 IWashington County, Arkansas, and WHEREAS, subsequent to the acceptance and recording of said plat as aforesaid, certain deeds have been executed in said subdivision referring to "Oak Manor Addition" instead of "Oak Manor Subdivision", and such has resulted in confusion to abstracters and title examiners, and WHEREAS, "Oak Manor Addition", referred to in said deeds, and !Oak Manor Subdivision" are one and the yam it is desirable to change the name of said subdivision to "Oak Manor Addition" in order to confrom said plat to the deeds. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF FAYEETEVILLE, ARKANSAS: Sectionl. City Manager recommended the Lease to Federal Aviation Agehcy For Remodeled Space in Flight Service an Administrative Memo #54 B. which reads as follows: Be Lease to Federal Aviation agency For Remodeled Space in Flight Service Center ;In late March FAA requested that the City consider constructing within the present Flight Service Cent, Field a Training Examining Room. This would be a 160 square feet room enclosed by partitions and glass city receives no revenue from the FAA forothe entire building at this time. It has been agreed, thoug] such enclosed area is constructed by the City, that it could be leased by the FAA. ,Approposed lease hi therefore been prepared to construct this room for $800 or less, charging FAA lease rental of $1 per si annually, or $160 for five years, to amortize original costsand, $.50 per square foot annually, or $80 after for maintenance costs on the new construction. A low proposal to do the necessary construction + been received from City Lumber Company in the amount of $706.60. WHEREAS, the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas amended Section 19-2822 to delete the requirement that a majority of members of metropolitan or regional planning commissions shgll hold no other public office except appointive membership on city or other planning commission or board; and ' WHEREAS, the Northwest Arkansas Regional Planning Commission on April 17, 1967, resolved to conform o the provisions of Act 26 of 1955 as amended by Act 29 of 1967; and WHEREAS, Article 10 of the Articles of Agreement for Joint Planning Cooperation requires that each I member ratify by resolution any amendments to said Agreement. WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 1120 of December 17, 1956, the 1955 Edition of the National Building Code adopted by reference, subject to certain amendments to said Code also contained in Ordinance No. 1120 t Ordinance 1120, including the amendments to said Code, now appear in codified form as Sections 6 -34 - the Fayetteville Code of Ordinances, and WHEREAS, it now appears that said Building Code, as amended, is unduly restrictive as it relates to movement of certain metal structures into the fire limits, the erection of addition to certain wood me and masonry veneered residences within the fire limits, and the use of certain non-combustible wall panels within the fire•limits; and it now appears that certain amendments to said Code pertaining to t ementsof residential garages into the fire limits and the construction of certain structures in the fi its are no longer desirable and should be deleted; and the Building Inspector has recommended the ndment of the Building Code to affect theseschanges.
