he City Attorney reported that the Codified Ordinances had been received with 25 copies being in
°'book binders (loose-leaf) and(770 copies unbound.
Codified ( After a brief discussion, Alderman Short moved that the bound copies be distributed as follows:
Ordinances One copy to each Member of the Council, to each of the City Officials, Fire Chief, Chief of Police,
The Municipal Court, and such other agencies of the City as may be designated by the Mayor.
The Motion was seconded by Alderman Watson and passed unanimously.
The City Attorney then recommended that the unbound copies be sold at $20.00 each with the privilege
of of purchasing the binding at what ever the cost may be to the city.
nd After a brief discussion Alderman Short moved to accept the recommendation of the City Attorney
s b $20 and unbound copies of the ordinances at $20.00 each and the binding at cost if desired.

The City Council of Fayetteville Arkansas met in regular session, on Monday, August 16, 1965,
in the CouncilRoom of the City Administration Building at 7:30 F.M. Present:
Fresent: Mayor Guy E. Brown, City Clerk George J. Davis, City Controller Albert J. Jones,
City Engineer W.C. Smith, Chief of Police Hollis Spencer, and Aldermen Heflin, Christie,
Watson, Bone, Thomas, Burgin, Faucette; and Short.
Absent: City Attorney Hugh R. Kincaid, and Fire Chief Burl Skelton.
The minutes of the regular meeting on Monday, Angust 2, 1965, a cop, of which had previously been
mailed to each of the Aldermen,were approved as written.
A large group of citizens residing on or near Highway #45 East, appeared before the Council, to
protest the relocating or construction of the proposed new sewer project near White River, ap-
proximately 6 miles below the, present Sewage DisposalFlant located on West Fork of White River.
Peter Harkins spoke in behalf of this group and outlined several reasons against the proposed
Sewer Project, among which, were the Pollution of the wells and the greater expense of moving

2. Widening and repairing of Taxiways.
37. Expanding and improving the apron at the Terminal Building.
4. Providing an additional crossover from runway to taxiway.
5. Improving existing handstand and providing additional hardstand for parking transcient
aircraft.
Alderman Short moved to accept the -five steps as listed by Consulting Engineer J.E. McClelland
'g for immediate improvement at the Municipal Airport.
A The motion was seconded by Alderman Thomas and passed unanimously.
Alderman Short moved to implement steps 1 and 5 listed above immediately. The motion was seconded
by Alderman Hellin and after a long discussion, upon roll call, the following vote Aas recorded:
"Ayes" Heflin, Christie, Watson] Pone, Faucette, and Short. "Nay" Thomas,"Abstaining " Burgin.
There being six"Ayes; only one "Nay" with one"Abstaining", the Mayor declared the motion passed.
Employment of Alderman Short moved to employ Consulting Engineer J.E. McClelland to Engineer the improvements

The City Attorney introduced and, at the request of the Council, read a proposed ordinance in its ant

TERRITORY TO WARDS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES."
After a brief discussion, Alderman Heflin m6ved that the Ordinance pass.
The motion was seconded by Alderman Christie and passed unanimously, whereupon the Mayor declared the
Ordinance passed.
ORDINANCE NO. 1458
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS, ASSIGNING SAID TERRITORY TO WARDS;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the County Court of Washington County, Arkansas, did on July 12, 1965, makd andorder
annexing the following described territory to the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, to -wit:
A tract of land abutting Highway No. 16 East, running from the present City Limits of Fayetteville,
Arkansas, East along Highway No. 16 Three Hundred (300) Feet in width on each side of said highway to
the West end of the bridge on said Highway spanning -the Middle Fork of White River,
Also all of Watson's Addition; Green Briar Addition; Lewis -Baldwin Addition; Lots 8 tod 14 inclusive,
Bassett Subdivision, and the Green Hills Subdivision.
Part of the Southwest Quarter(SW�) of the Southeast Quarter (SES) of the Southwest Quarter (SWk) of
Section 14, and part of the Northwest Quarter(NWk) of the Northeast Quarter(NE4) of the Northwest Quarter
(NWy) of Section23, described as beginning at a point 4.8 feet North of the Southeast corner of the
Southwest Quarter (SWJ) of the Southeast Quarter (SEk) of the Southwest Quarter (SW.') ofSSection 14; ther
South 100 feet; thence West 260 feet; thence North 100 feet; thence East 260 feet to the point of
beginning, all in Township 16 North, Range 30 West.

Range 29 West, more particularly described as follows, to -wit: Beginning'at the Southwest corner of said
40 acre tract and running thence North 1252.2 feet, thence East 450 feet, thence South 1252.2 feet,
thence West 450 feet to the point of beginning, containing 12.94 acres, more or less, a perpetual easemer
is hereby reserved over and across the East 10 feet of the above described property for a roadway.
