Authorize A long discussion was had with reference to errecting a Radio Tower for the Motorola Company on City

Contract., The motion was seconded by Alderman Heflin And upon roll call the following vote was recorded, "AYE"
Heflin, Christie, Watson, Thomas, Burgin, Faueette. "NAY" Short.
There being six "AYES" and only one "NAY", the Mayor declared the Motion passed.
There being no further business Alderman Burgin moved to adjourn.
The motion was seconded by Alderman Watson and passed unanimously, Whereupon the Mayor declared the
meeting adjourned.

The City Planner Presinted the Petition of Joe E. Smith for the rezoining of property located west of
Hill Avenue and north of Eleventh Street from R-2 Two -Family Residential District to 0-1 Open Land Dis-
trict.

Alderman Burgin moved that the rule be suspended and the Ordinance placed on the second reading.
The motion was seconded by Alderman Christie and upon roll call the following vote was recorded, "AYE"

There being six "AYES" non"NAYS" and one "ABM INING" the Mayor decl4red the motion passed.
The Ordinance was then read for the second time.

third and final reading.

INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT TO 0-1 OPEN LAND DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held before the Planning Commission of the City of Fayetteville, Ark -
I, on Abril 27, 1965, on the petition of Joe E. Smith, requesting that said Planning Commission re-
nd th the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, that the City Council enact an Ordin-
rezoning the following described property, which is presently zoned R-2 Two faddy Residential
hict and I-2 Heavy Industrial District, To -wit:
Part of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 21,.Township 16 North, Range 30
West of the 5th Principal Meridian, County of Washington, State of Arkansas, and being more partic-
ularly described as follows, to wit: Beginning at a point which is85.14 feet North and 44.60 feet
West of the Southeast.Corner of tie Above-mentioned 40 acre tract, thence North 366.60 feet to the
intersection of the Center line of the Town Creed, thence along said centerline of the Town Creek
N 430 161 W, 231.15 Feet, thence N 300 041 W, 203.60 feet, thence West 387.90 feet to the E_st right
of way of the St. Louis and San Francisco Railroad, thence Southwesterly along said right of way

WHEREAS, --following said public hearing said Planning Commission certified to the City Council of
the City of F yetteville, Arkansas, its recommendation that an ordinance be adopted rezoning the above
described property, which is persently zoned R-2 Two Family RL''sidential District and I-2 Heavy Industr-
ial District, to 0-1 Open Land District:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the above-described property which is presently zoned R-2 Two F mily R"sidential
District and I-2 Heavy Industrial District be and the same is hereby rezoned to 0-1 Open Land District.
Section 2. That all Ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and

by Cy Carney and Lettie Carney„ husband and wife, for street purposes located in the Rochier Heights
Addition to the City of Fjyetteville, Arkansas,
The Planning Commission made the following recomendations as set out in Resolution PC 9-65 which reads
as follows: .
RESOLUTION PC 945
WHEREAS, after more study of the quitclaim deed afforddd by Cy Carney and Lettie Carney, husband
and wife, to the City of Fayetteville, for a 50- foot street was given, the Planning Commission voted to
make a recommendation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
BY THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
SECTION 1. That the City of F4yetteville accept a deed made by the proper person for the dedica
of a 50 foot street to be a continuation of Paris Avenue from the south line of Rochier Street to the
point where Paris.Avenue was not closed by Ordinance No. 1426, said point being 84 feet south of the
line of Grandview Street; and
SECTION 2. That a
temporary
turn -around be provided at the end of that
portion of Paris Avenue to
be opened and improved;
and

Faucette and
SECTION 3. That it be recommended to Cy Carney and Lettie Carney, husband and wife, that Rochier
Heights Addition be replatted.

Alderman Short commended the Chief of Police for his effort to apprehend the persons or person res-
ponsiable for the telephone calls making threats to bomb various Public Buildings within the City.
Alderman Short then moved that each Alderman donate his Aldermen's salery for one month as a reward
to any person persons giving evidence which would lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or
persona respons Is for making these telephone threats.
The motion was econded by Alderman Watson and passed unanimously.
There being no further business Alderman Short moved to Ad¢aurn. The motion was seconded by Alderman
Watson and passed unanimously, whereupon the Mayor declared the meeting adjourned.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAY ETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That Section 7 of Ordinance Number 1443, passed and approved april 26, 1965, be and the

"Section 7. That the rates fixed by this ordinance shall go into effect on the first day
of August, 1965, so that the first bills will be surmitted and wi 11 be due and payable
between August 19 and August 10, 1965."
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and
