Regular The City Council of Fayetteville, Arkansas, met in regular session on Monday, May ll, 1964 at 7:30 P.N.
Session in the Council Room of the City Adminis tration Building.
Present: Mayor Guy E. Brown, City Clerk George J. DSvis, City Controller Albert J. Jones, City Attorney
Bass Trumbo, City Engineer W.C. Smith, Chief of Police Hollis Spencer, Fire Chief Burl Skelton, and Ald-
ermen: Heflin, Christie, W$tson, Wheeler, Thomas, Burgin, Faucette and Short.
Absent: None.

to each of the aldermen, were approved as written.

District, which had been approved by the Planning Commission.

SECTION 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed,

Resolution The City Clerk read a. proposed.Resolution authorizing a pipeling contract with the Briseo Railway Compan
iz14 for a water line across their right-of-way.
Pipet Line Alderman Thomas moved that the Resolution be adopted.
Contract The motion was seconded by Alderman Short and passed unanimously, whereupon the Mayor declared the Res-
olution adopted.

WHEREAS,it is necessary to extend a 2-1/4 inch cast iron water main west from U.S. Highway No. 71
within Fayetteville Suburban Water District No.]. to'serve customers west of the St. Louise -San Francisco
Railway Company, and in doing so, it is necessary to cross the 100 foot right of way of said railway at
Mile Post 356 plus 28 pcles plus 5 feet; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for theCity of F,yetteville, Arkansas, to enter into a Pipe Line Contract
with the said St. Louis -San Francisco Raili:ny Company for authority to construct and maintain said 2-1/4
inch cast iron water main;

AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING TERRITORY ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS, ASSIG?TING SAID
WARDS; AND FOR OTHER FURFOSES,
WHEREAS, the County Court of Washington County, Arkansas, did on April 15, 1964, make an Order
the following described territory to the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, to -wit:

Part of the Northeast quarter (NE1/4) of the Southeast quarteri(SE1/4) of Section 7, Township 16 North,
Range 30 West, described as beginning at t'e Northeast corner of said 40 acre tract, and running thence
South 1305 feet, thence West 674 feet, thence North 1305 feet, thence East 674 feet, to the point of be-
ginning, containing 26.3 acres, more or less,.subiect to an easement for State Highway 16,
NOW, THEREFORE, EE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYEPTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 11. That the Annexation of the above-described territgry to the Corporate Limits of the City of

and that the Mayor abd City Clerk be and they are hereby autoorized to execute the contract.
The motion was seconded by Alderman Heflin and passed unanimously.

After a brief discussion, Alderman Thomas moved to grant the extension of One Year to "Conley Finer
Homes Incorporated" as requested by Block(5) Five of Bel=Air Acres Second Addition to the City of
FFayetteville, Arkansas and that the City Clerk be and he is hereby autorized and directed to execute
and record the Contract.
The motion was seconded byAlderman Wheeler and passed unanimously.

Alderman Faucette reported thatbids had been received and opened for 4,000 Feet of 2'x/2 inch dacron
filled and 1,000 Feet of n?/2 inch dacron filled fire hose and he recommended that the purchase he made

Alderman Faucette then moved to purchase 4,000 Feet of 2 1/2 inch dacron filled fire hose at $1.06 per
Foot and 1,000 Feet of 1 1/2 inch dacron fire hose at $.81 per Foot.
The motion was seconded by Alderman Short and passed unanimously.
There being no further business, Alderman Heflin moved to adjourn.
The motion was seconded by Alderman Christie and passed unanimously, whereupon the Mayor declaredthe
meeting adjourned.
