The City Council.of Fayetteville, Arkansas, met in special session on Minrsday, March 12, 1964, at
12:00 Noon at the Mountain Inn Motor Lodge.
Present: Mayor Guy E. Brown, City Clerk George J. Davis, City Controller Albert J. Jones, City Attorney
Bass Trumbo, and Aldermen:Heflin, Christie, Watson, Wheeler, Thomas, Burgin, Faucette, and Short.
Absent: None.
of The Mayor reported that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss a proposed contract for the construct
of the new Geriatrics Unit and the City Hospital of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and that all members of the
Council had been notified at the regular meeting.of the Council on Wednesday, March 11, 1964, and by
telephone, ,
Members of the Hospital Board present were Alsey Holland, Judge V. James Ptak, Roy Scott, Kenneth
Roy Edwards, Herbert Lewis, and Ed Froning.
After a long discussion, Alderman Wheeler moved that the Mayor and City Clerk be and they are hereby
e authorized and directed to execute a contract with Shirley Construction Co., Fayetteville, Arkansas, for
the NEW GERIATRICS UNIT in connection with the CITY HOSPITAL,ITAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS, for the contract
price of Three Hundred Eleven Thousand Two Hundred Twenty -Seven ($315,227.00) Dollars.

There being no further business, Alderman Wheeler moved to adjourn. The motion was seconded by Alderman
Watson and passed unanimously, whereupon the Mayor declared the meeting adjourned.

The City Clerk read a resolution from the Planning Commission recommending the rezoning of property owner

Alderman Burgin moved that the ordinance passe4r. The motion was seconded by Alderman Heflin and passed
unanimously, wher4 upon the mayor declared the ordinance passed.

ARKANSAS, APPROVED MAY 28, 196242 TO REZONE CERTAIN REAL ESTATE FROM I -1A LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT
TO R-3 MULTI -FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT.
TdHEREAS, a public hearing was held before the Planning Commission of the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas, on Tuesday, March 10, 1964, on the petition of James 0. Witt, Jr., and Mildred Witt, requesti:
that said Planning Commission recommend to the City Council of the City of.Fayetteville, Arkansas; that
the City Council enact an ordinance rezoning the following described property, to -wit: Lots 1, 2, 3, V
11, and 12 of Block 2 of College Addition to the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, from I -1A Light
Industrial District to R-3 Multi -Family Residential District, and
WHEREAS, after the public hearing, action was taken by the Planning Commission.and a rf
