PA"rydu, Alderman Short presented the proposed $udget for the year 1964 which had been approved by the Finance
Budget Committee.
1964 Alderman Burgin moved to approve the Budget for 1964 as presented by the Finance Committee.
Approved The motion was seconded by Alderman Wheeler and passed unanimously.
Approved (Alderman Heflin then moved to appropriate $13,000.00 from the Unappropriated Funds to purchaseetwo
Purchase Pakmore or similar equipment for the Sanitation Department,

Meeting There being no further business, Alderman Faucette moved to adjourn.
Adjourned The.motion was seconded by Alderman Watson and passed unanimously , whereupon the Mayor declared the
meeting adjourned.

SPECIAL The City Council of Fayetteville, Arkansas, met in special session on Friday, February 11�0 1964 at 12:00
SESSION o'clock noon in the Mt. Inn Motor Lodge.
Present: Mayor Guy E. Brown, City Clerk George J. Davis, City Controller Albert J. Jones, City Attorney
Bass Trumbo, City Engineer W.C. Smith, Fire Chief Burl Skelton, Chief of Police Hollis Spencer, and Ailde
men: Heflin, Christie, Watson, Wheeler, Thomas, Burgin, Faucette and Short. Absent: None
'urpose of The Mayor reported that the purpose of the meeting was to consider a resolutioh prohibiting extensions
Meeting water mains beyond the City limits.and that all members of the Council had been notified by U.S. Mail
land by telephone.
Alderman Short moved that the Council do not consider entering into a contract with Suburban Water Dis
No. 8 at this time.
The motion was seconded by Aldermah Heflin and upon roll call, the folloiring vote was recorded: "Aye"
Heflin, Christie, Wheeler, Thomas, Faucette and Short. "Nay" Watson and Burgin.
Their being six "Ayes" and two "Nays", the Mayor declared the motion pass.'
The City Attorney read a'proposed resolution prohibiting the extensions of water mains outside the City
imits.
Alderman Heflin moved.that the resolution be adopted.
The motion was seconded by Alderman Faucette and upon roll call, the following vote was recorded: "Aye"
Heflin, Christie, Wheeler, Thomas, Watgdn, Faucette and Short. "Nay" Burgin.
Their being seven "Ayes" and one "Nay", the Mayor declared the motion pass.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS, that no further water
distribution main extensions outside the corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, be
authorized and/or constructed, except within the boundaries of Suburban Water Improvement Districts duly
created under Arkansas Act No. 41 of 1941, as amended, and now holding contracts with the City of Fayett
ville, Arkansas,
8 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all resolutions and policies in conflict herewith are hereby repealer
and rescinded, and that this resolution shall become effective upon its passage andlapproval by the City
Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

After a long discussion, Alderman Burgin moved that the City accept the offer of the Fulbright Investment

Heflin, Christie, Wheeler, Thomas, Burgin, And Short. "Nay" Watson and Faucette.
Their, being six "Ayes" and two "Plays", the Mayor declared the motional passed.
There being no further business, Alderman Short moved to adjourn. "
