Jones, and Fire Chief Burl Skelton, he minutes of the regular meeting on Monday, May 27, 1963, and of the special meeting on Thursday, June 6, 963, copies of which had previously been mailed to each of the Aldermen, were approved as written. he City Engineer reported that more up-to-date radios with more powerful transmitters were needed by the Police and Fire Departments and he recommended that the City purchase both at the same time. thoriza-(After a brief discussion, Alderman Thomas moved that the City Engineer be and he is hereby authorized to n to bid repare specifications and advertise for bids on two-way base radios, including accessories, for the two-way olice and Fire Departments, e radios I he motion was seconded by Alderman Faucette and passed unanimously. Alderman Wheeler introduce and read a'proposed resolution to make application for a Federal Grant for thconstruction of sewage facilities. Merman Wheeler then moved that the Resolution be adopted. The motion was seconded by Alderman Short and passed unanimously, whereupon the Mayor declared the Resolution adopted. RESOLUTION N0. 11-63 mfflREAS, it is contemplated that the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas will construct certain sewage transmission facilities with an estimated total cost of $87,500.00; and solution 11-63 14HEREAS, it iff found that the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas is unable to provide the total cost of such unprovements; and AS, it is deemed necessary and proper to apply for Federal grant under the Federal Water Pollution bol Act, Public Law 660, 84th Congress as Amended, in order tohave sufficient funds to complete the needed improvements; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY ODUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS, at Guy E. Mr. Brown; REF: Police Headquarters Building City of Fayetteville -mmulq 233 We will supply the heating and air conditioning uhits specified by the architect for the above job for $8,195.00 plus the 3 per cent state sales tax. There are five air conditioning units with five matching towers with a combined refrigeration capacity of 24.1 tons and a combined heating capacity of 690M BTU input incorporated in -the specifications. We will deliver this equipment to the ,job, provide the initia start up of equipment, and service the equipment for one year without charge. Brown, City Clerk George J. Davis, City Attorney Bass-Trumbo,'City Engineer W. C. Smith, Chief of Police Hollis Spencer, and -Aldermen: Heflin, Christie, Watson, Wheeler, Thomas, Burgin, Faucette, and Short. Absent: City Controller Albert J. Jones, and Fire Chief Burl Skelton. The minutes of the regular meeting on Monday, June 10, 1963, a copy of which had been mailed to each of the Aldermen, were approved as yritten. Building Inspector read two resolutions from the Planning Commission recommending the enlarging Roytguinn's.Trailor Park and the amending of Zoning Ordinance No. 1239 to cover problems of this ure in the future. After a long discussion Alderman Short moved to accept the recommendation of the nning Commission as outlined in their resolutions PC 9-63 andw-PC 10=63. motion was seconded by Alderman Burgin and passed unanimously. Planning Commission's resolutions were spread in the minutes as follows: RESLOUTION PC 943 WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission cn June 21, 1962, voted to accept the recommendation of its Zone Revision Committee regarding the location of mobile homes (trailers) on individual lots within the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and �JHEREAS, no further action was taken at the above-mentioned June 1962 meeting nor was there any public hearing held to amend. the ordinance as additional study was to be made of trailer courts; and , at a s pecial Planning Commission meeting on June 18, 1963, the recommendation of the 'Lone n Committee regarding trailer courts was made and accepted by the Planning Commission, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED Bv THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. -That at the earliest possible time after the necessary notices have been published and the necessary signs erected, a public hearing be held for the purpose of recommending to the City Council that Zoning Ordiance No. 1239 be amended to permit mobile homes (trailers) on individual lots qnd to permit trailer courts in all industrial zones within the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas: I -1A Light Industrial District; I -1B Light Industrial District and I-2 Heavy Industrial District. PALMER, CHAIRMAN RESOLUTION PC 10-63 WHEREAS, on June 18, 1963, the Planning Cormnission discussed the trailer court problem of Roy Quinn who Resolution owns and operates a trailer park which he wishes to enlarge. The trailer park is located on Duncan 'C 010-63 Avenue in a R-2 Two Family Residential Zone within the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and WHEREAS, a petition was submitted by persons owning real estate abutting Roy Quinn's Trailer Park and said petitioners stated they had no objections to the increase in size of the trailer park; and
