Brown, City Clerk George J. Davis, City*Cnntroller Albert J. Jones, and Aldermen: Heflin, Goff, Wheeler, Thomas, Burgin, and Faucette. Absent: Aldermen: Christie and Short, and City Attorney Bass Trumbo. Purpose of The Mayor reported that the purpose of the meeting was to receive and open bid.on some surplus property Meeting, owned by the City which had been advertised for sale, as required by law, and which is better described as The ity Housing Project (divided into two separate units for selling purposes), The City Fire Station No. 1 (On Block Avenue), The City Shop (Highway No. ,62 West), and the Old Wilson Lake Property. The Mayor further reported that all members of the Council had been notified by U. �. Mail and by announc ment at the last regular meeting on Monday, April 23, 1962, but Aldermen Carter Short and Arnold Christie were out of the City and could not attend but had signed a WAIVER OF NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING. Waiver of WAIVER OF NOTICE Notice. Comes now the undersigned, being a duly elected, qualified, and acting member of the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas;, and specifically waives notices of a special meeting of the Fayetteville City Council to be held in the City Council Room of the City Administration Building, Fayetteville, Arkansas, at 3:00 o'clock, P. M. CST., 1962 Dated this 30th day of April, 1962 /n A Alderman Bids opened. The bids on the'surplus property were opened by the Mayor who noted that not more than one bid was on surplus received on any one item of the list of property and were'as follows; with all bids being accompanied wit property, a check for 5% of the Bid. Item # 1. The City Housing Project lying along Highway No. 71 Bypass and East of the Highway to Block Ave between South Street and 4th Street one bid only; Bert Rogers, Fayetteville, Arkansas, of $15,051.00 Item #'2. The City Housing Project (One building) West of Highway No. 71. No Bids . Bids on Surplus property. Item # 3. The City Fire Station No. 1. located on Block Avenue. McIlroprBank Co. --- $259100.00 Item # 4. The City Shop Property (Building and grounds) on Highway No. 62 West, Farm Bureau Cooperative Ass'n.-------- $35,255.00 Item # 5. Wilson Lake Property known as the Old City Lake. Paul Garnett, West Fork, Arkansan, -------- $5,120.00 A long discussion was had in regard to the City Shop property but no further action was taken at this Ii R.A.Young & Son, Inc. The Mayor reported that bids had been taken for a new grader for the Street Department and that it was Purchase of badly needed as soon as it could be bought. He further reported that the Street committee had recommended new grader Power Grader) the purchase of the AUSTIN -WESTERN Pacer 100 Power Grader, in preference to a cheaper machine because it more nearly met the needs of the City than any of the others who submitted bids. After a brief discussion, Alderman Burgin moved to accept the recommendation of the Street Committee and purchase the AUSTIN -WESTERN Pacer 100 Power Grader from R. A. Young & Son, Inc., Ft. Smith, Arkansas, for the sum of $16,019.00 plus $604.00 for Cab, $78.00 for natei�iamd $29:00,fordDefroster, making a tots. of $16,711.00 less a tradein or the old grader now in use of $1,900.00 making a net cost to the City of $140811.00.
