A large group of citizens living in this area appeared before the Council, apparently in protest to this
area being rezoned.
After a long discussion, Alderman Short moved that the property referred to in Resolution 5-62, dated
April 9, 1962,(more particularly described in the petition) remain in R-lA Single Family Residential
District as originally zoned by Ordinance No. 1239, Passed and Apprmved June 13, 1960.
The motion was seconded by Alderman Faucette and passed unanimously.

1296.I AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING TERRITORY ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS, BY ORDERS OF THE COUNTY
COURT OF WASHINGTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS, ASSIGNING SAID TERRITORY TO WARDS AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, on the 6th day of February, 1962, Fayetteville School District No. One (1), filed its
ion to annex certain territory to the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, in the County Court of Wash-

prior to and in advance of the installation of the improvements required by Fayetteville Ordinance No.
1245, Section 5, Paragraphs A through F, with the understanding and agreement by the Subdivider that he

the above-described territory, within 6 months from the date when the first building permit is issued.
The Subdivider hereby covenants and ggrees that if he should fail to comply with the terms of this
contract, the City may then install the required improvements and charge the cost to the Subdivider, plus
interest at a rate of 10% per annum, and that this contract then will constitute a lien in favor of the C

providing the improvements.•In such case, the City hereby agrees that it will release said lien on any
individual lot in the subdivision upon payment of that lot's proportionate share of the City's cost in

ad valorem assessment (less building improvements).
It is further understood and agreed that any new streets must be laid out and graveled according to the
street profile which has been approved the the City Engineer before the Building Inspector can issue any

Alderman Wheeler reported that the Water and Sewer Committee had received bids for two 3/4 ton pickup
trucks for the Water and Sewer Department and they recommended the purchase of the low bid which was the
one by Lewis -Ford Sales Co., Fayetteville, Arkansas, at a net cost of $2,970.00 plus $99.00 for Traction -
control axle for both trucks.
After a brief discussion, Alderman Wheeler moved to accept the recommendation of the Water & Sewer Commit -
and purchase two pickup trucks (3/4 ton) from Lewis Ford Sales Co. at a net cost of $2,970.00 plus $99.00
for Traction control axle for both trucks.
The motion was seconded by Alderman Thomas and passed unanimously.

The City Building Inspector presented a proposed "Revised Zoning Map" of The entire City of Fayetteville
and after a brief discussion, the City Attorney read a proposed ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPT-
ING A REVISED ZONING DISTRICT MAP OF THE PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF FAYETTEVILLE,
ARKANSAS".
No further action was taken and the ordinance was left on its first reading.
