Davis, City Controller Albert J. Jones, City Attorney Bass'Trumbo, City Engineer -W. C. Smith, Chief of Police Pearl Watts, Fire Chief'Burl Skelton, and Aldermen: Walker, Christie, Hatfield, Wheeler, Thomas, Burgin, Smith, and Short. Absent: None. PH t Alidermari Christie reported that the Street Committee had a request and that they had recommended that 'that portion of West Shadowridge Drive between Hammond Street and West Ridgeway Drive be renamed Viewpoint Drive since it really is an extension of the street known as Viewpoint Drive: After a brief discussion, Alderman Christie"moved that the portion of West Shadowridge Drive between Hammomd Street and West Ridgeway Drive be renamed Viewpoint Drive. The motion was seconded by Alderman Burgin and passed unanimously. ndemna- The City Clerk reported that Special Attorneys Wade & McAllister had verbally reported on suit that a condemnation suit had been filed by them, in behalf of the City of Fayetteville, led.vs against certain property owned by John and Alta Shaffer for an Aviation Easement across affer that property, on November 10, 1961, -'and that the Shaffers, in turn, have filed an 14, answer claiming damages in the amoung of $40,000.00. 16, The City'Attorney introduced and at the request of the Council, read a proposed ordinan Mitchell's Addition to the City entitled,"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE N0. 1239 AND ZONING DISTRICT MAP OF dinance FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS, APPROVED JUNE 132 19600 TO REZONE PROPERTY LOCATED IN BLOCK 1, • 1279 BLOCK 21 AND BLOCK 3 OF MITCHELL'S ADDITION TO THE CITY OF F& ETTEVILLE AND LOT 15 OF to the City of BUSHNELL'S ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE FROM -R-1B SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT AND R-3 MULTI -FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT TO I-1A'LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT". Alderman Walker moved that the Ordinance pass. The motion was sec6nded by Alderman Shor and passed unanimously, whereupon the Mayor declared the Ordinance passed. ORDINANCE N0. 1279 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE N0, 1239 AND ZONING DISTRICT MAP OF FAYETTEVILLE ARKANSAS, APPROVED JUNE 13, 1960, TO REZONE PROPERTY LOCATED IN BLOCK 10 BLOCK 29 AND BLOCK 3 OF MITCHELL'S ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE AND LOT 15 OF BUSHNELL'S ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE FROM'R-1B SINGLE FAMILY "RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT AND R-3 MULTI -FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT TO I-lA LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT. L WHEREAS; a public hearing was held before the Planning Commission of the City of Fayetteville, on October 24, 1961, on a petition filed by the property owners requesting that the -Planning Comnission'recomnend to the City Council of the City of Fayetteville,I Arkansas, that the City Council enact an ordinance to'rezone from R -1B Single Family 'Rei- idential'District and R-3 Multi -Family Residential District to I-lA Light Industrial District, all of the following described real estate, to -wit: Lots 16, 17; 18; 19, 20; and 21 of Block 3; Lots 7, 8,-9, 10; and ll.of Block 2; and Lots 12, 13, 14, 150 16, and 17, of Block 1 of Mitchell's Addition to the City of Fayetteville, and Lot 15 of Bushnell's Addition to the City of Fayetteville. and. WHEREAS, notice of said public hearing, setting forth the time, place, and purpose of hearing, and location of the property -sought to be rezoned was published in the Nort west Arkansas Times, a"daily newspaper having'a general circulation in said'City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, more than fifteen days prior to said public hearing, and WHEREAS, following said public hearing, said Planning Commission certified to the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, its recommendation that an ordinanc be adopted rezoning said above described real estate from R -1B Single Family Residentia District and R-3 Multi=Family Residential District to I-lA Light Industrial District. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1.That the hereinabove described real estate be and the same is hereby rezoned from R -1B Single Family Residential District and R-3 Multi -Family Residential District to I-lA Light Industrial District , as recommended by the Planning Commission of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas. SECTION 2.'That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect, from and after its passage, approval, and publication. PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 4th day of December, 1961. City Employees.The motion was seconded by Alderman Hatfield and passed unanimously. There being no further business, Alderman Short moved to adjourn. The City Attorney introduced and read a proposed ordinance in its entirety entitled, "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE N0, 1239 AND ZONING DISTRICT MAP OF FAYETTEVILL No. ARKANSAS, APPROVED JUNE 13, 1960, TO REZONE CERTAIN REAL ESTATE FROM R-2 TWO-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT TO I-lA LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT; FROM R-2 TWO-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT TO C-1 NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL; AND FROM R-2 TWO-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT T C-2 THOROUGHFARE COMMERCIAL DISTRICT; AND FROM C-1 NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL TO C-2 THOROUGHFARE COMMERCIAL DISTRICT". After a brief discussion, Alderman Walker moved that the ordinance pass.' The motion was seconded by Alderman Burgin and passed unanimously, whereupon the Mayor declared the ordinance passed. ORDINANCE N0. 1280 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE N0, 1239 AND ZONING DISTRICT MAP OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS, APPROVED JUNE 13, 1960, TO REZONE CERTAIN REAL ESTATE FROM R-2 TWO-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT TO I-lA LIGHT INDURSTIAL DISTRICT; FROM 'R-2 TWO-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT TO C-1 NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL; AND FROM R-2 TWO-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT TC C-2 THOROUGHFARE COMMERCIAL DISTRICT; AND FROM C-1 NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL TO C-2 THOROUGHFARE COMMERCIAL DISTRICT.
