Session. '1961, at 7:30 P. M.
Present: Mayor Guy E. Brown, City Clerk George J. Davis, City Controller Albert J. Jones
City Attorney Bass Trumbo, Chief of Police Pearl Watts, Fire Chief Burl Skelton, and
ldermen: Short, Smith, Burgin, Thomas, Hatfield, Christie, aryl Walker.

The minutes of the regular meeting on Monday, February 27, 1961, and of the special
meeting on Tuesday, March 7, 1961, were approved.

Alderman Burgin moved that the rules be suspended and the ordinance placed on the second
reading.
The motion was seconded by Alderman Hatfield and passed unanimously.

The Mayor then declared the Ordinance open for discussion. There being no further
Ordinance (discussion, the Mayor asked the question, "Shall the Ordinance pass?"
Nol. 1258 Upon roll call the following vote was recorded, "Aye" Short, Smith, Burgin, Thomas,
Hatfield, Christie, and Walker. "Nay" None.
There being seven "Ayes" and no "Nays", the Mayor declared the Ordinance passed.

AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING TERRITORY ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS, ASSIGNIN
.SAID TERRITORY TO WARDS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the County Court of Washington County, Arkansas, did on January 16, 1961,
an Order annexing the following described territory to the City of Fayetteville,
nsas, to -wit:
All of the territories or lands included within the following described bounds
except that part which now lies within the corporate limits of the City of Fayette-
ville, Arkansas: Beginning at the Northwest corner of the Northeast Quarter of
Section 29, Township.16 North, Range 30 West of the 5th Principal Meridian; running
thence South one-fourth mile to the Southwest corner of the Northwest Quarter of th
Northeast Quarter of Section 29, Township 16 North, Range 30 West of the 5th
Principal Meridian; thence east 1600 feet, more or less, to the west right-of-way
line of the St. Louis and San Francisco Railroad; thence in a southeasterly direc-
tion along the west right-of-way line of the St. Louis and San Francisco Railroad
2675 feet, more or less, to the north line of the South Half of the Southeast
Quarter of Section 29, Township 16 North, Range 30 West of the 5th Principal
Meridian; thence west 2100 feet, more or less, to the northwest corner of the South
Half of the Southeast Quarter of Section 29, Township 16 North, Range 30 West of th

Range 30 West of the 5th Principal Meridian; thence east 900 feet, more or less, to
the point of intersection of a line which runs in a northwesterly direction and is
parallel to and lying 500 feet perpendicular distance west of the center line of th
now paved runway of the Fayetteville Municipal Airport; thence in a southeasterly
direction on a line parallel to and 500 feet west of the center line of the said
paved runway of the Fayetteville Municipal Airport a distance of 220 feet, more or
less, to the south line of the North Half of the Southwest Quarter of Section 41
Township 15 North, Range 30 West of the 5th Principal Meridian; thence east to the
Southeast corner of the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 4,

more or less, which is not now within the corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE4.IT`fORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,

SECTION 1. That the annex%tion of the above described territory to the corporate
limits of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, be and the same are hereby accepted.
SECTION.2. That all of the above described territory is hereby assigned to and
made a part of Ward One (1) of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Report for Myers, Scarbrough and Baker be accepted and filed.
