WHEREAS, there has been duly presented to the City Council of the City of Fayettevi: rkansas, a plat dated June, 1959, known as Block 2, McRae Addition to the City of Fayet ille, Arkansas, and being a part of the Southwest Quarter (SW'l of the Northeast Quartep NE4), Section 17, Township 16 North, Range 30 West of the Fifth Principal Meridian, by hick the owners of the platted real estate have dedicated for the public use the street; lleys, and easements shown upon said plat; and WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City &f Fayetteville, Arkansas, has commended the acceptance of said plat. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: 1, Section 1. That the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, hereby accepts and confirms the edication of all streets, alleys, and easements, dedicated in Block 21 McRae Addition to he City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and hereby declares said Streets, alleys and easements, o be public streets, alleys and easements; and the said City Council hereby assumes the l are, control, and jurisdiction of the same. Attorney Hale also discussed with the Council a petition for rezoning some property owned by Mr. J. G. Coffey and located on Douglas Street between Garland Avenue and Lindell Avenue. This petition had been before the Council in October, 1958, and tabled at that time. No further action was taken. Deed for Right The Mayor presented a Right -Of -Way Deed from George F. McKinney and Lillie Mae McKinney, of Way husband and wife, for a tract of land "Five feet of equal and uniform width off the purpose by entire east side of Lot Five of Hillcrest Addition to the City of Fayetteville, Arkansds Geo. McKi ey : & wife. Alderman Smith moved to accept the -Right-Of-Way Deed from Mr. & Mrs. George McKinney. The motion was seconded by Alderman Kent and passed unanimously. Mr. Carl Tune appeared before the Council with a proposed "Option For Lease" and a Lease for proposed "Lease Agreement and Option to Buy Improvements" for the proposed Municipal 8'olf course Golf Course which was discussed at the last regular meeting of the Council on August 10, discussed. 1959. After a lengthy discussion, Alderman Hatfield moved to refer this back to the original committee, appointed July 10, 1959, for further study and report. The motion was seconded by Alderman Kent and passed unanimously. The Mayor opened and read three bids for painting and repair work needed in the City Bids opened Housing Project. for painting After a brief discussion, Alderman Lunsford moved to refer this to the Building Committe City Housi g. and City Engineer for study and recommendation. Proposal for The Mayor reported that he had a proposal from Mr. Jim Gregory to either lease or sell parking lot for the City some property near the City Shop to be us;ed as a parking lot for City Employees City Shop After a brief discussion, Alderman Smith moved to refer this to the Shop Committee, Employees. The motion was seconded by Alderman Kent and passed unanimously. The Mayor reported that Adrian Fletcher had refused the City's offer of $11,340.00 for Adrian Fl e cher his property at the new lakesite. This offer was made on June 29, 1959. property The Mayor reported that Mr. Fletcher had agreed to accept $11,900.00 for this property urchased with no reservations. 11,900.00 After a brief discussion, Alderman McClelland moved to purchase one tract from Adrian Fletcher and Marie Fletcher, husband and wife, listed as F-1, consisting of 40.0 acres, more or less, for the sum of $11,900.00 with no reservations whatsoever. The motion was seconded by Alderman Kent and upon roll call the following vote was recorded: "Aye" McClelland, Kent, and Walker. "Nay" Smith, Lunsford, and Hatfield. Not Voting: Burgin. There being Three "Ayes" and Three "Nays" with one not voting, the vote resulted in a tie and it became the duty of the Mayor to cast the deciding vote. The Mayor voted "Aye", thereby making the final vote Four "Ayes" and Three "Nays" with one not voting and the motion was passed by the Council. • Alderman Kent reported that the Finance Committee had approved the bills and he moved they be allowed as approved. The motion was seconded by Alderman Burgin and passed unanimously. Section 2. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication. Raney & Sons, bond brokers, of Little Rock, Arkansas, egntract appeared before the Council and submitted a proposed offer on the part of T. J. Raney & for Sons, to serve as fiscal agent for the City in connection with the contemplated issuance fiscal of ad valorem bonds for construction of a City Library and improvements to the Municipal' agent for Airport. Mr. Raney read a proposed contract of employment which provided, among other bond things, that T. J. I The Mayor reported that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the Option for Lease P rpose and Lease Agreements on a proposed Municipal Golf Course, a proposed ordinance for meleting control of additional Off -Street Parking Facilities, award contract for repairs and painting the five buildings in the City Housing Project, and to receive and open bids for the construction of a Chemical Building as a part of the 1958 Water and Sewer Expansion project. The Mayor further reported that Alderman J. E. McClelland could not be present due to pressing business and that Alderman Ralph Barnhart was out of the City and could not be present but both had signed°Waiver Of Notice"of the meeting.
