ORDINANCE N0. 1210 N ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0, 1042 PASSED AND APPROVED FEBRUARY 9, 1953, ABANDONINi PORTION OF AN UNNAMED AVENUE TWENTY '('20) FEET IN WIDTH AND IN THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE RKANSAS, AND EXTENDING NORTH SEVENTY TWO (72)FEET FROM CONNER STREET, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 1042 be and the same is hereby amended to ead as follow, to -wit: The City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, hereby releases, vacates and abandons all its ht, together with the rights of the public generally, in and to that portion of said amed avenue twenty nine and twenty five hundredths (29.25) feet in width in the City Fayetteville, Arkansas, and extending north ninety five (95) feet from Conner Street. SECTION 2. A copy of this ordinance duly certified by the City Clerk shall be filed i e office of the Recorder of said County and recorded in the deed records of said unty. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its ssage. Davis, City Controller Albert J. Jones, City Attorney A. D. McAllister Jr., and Aldermen: Lynn Smith, Bruce Lunsford, J. E. McClellans, Herbert Hatfield, Dale Kent, and Bryan Walker. Absent: Aldermen Ralph Barnhart and Ellis Burgin. 1959,.1 Purpose ofThe Mayor reported that the purpose of the meeting was to present the situation of the Meeting. Planning Commission to the Oouncil and that all members of the douncil had been notified Tby U. S. Mail and by telephone but Aldermen Ralph Barnhart and Ellis Burgin could not he present and had waived notice of the meeting. A long discussion was held between the City Council, Members of the City Planning Commission,and State Representative Charles Stewart concerning the Master Planning Prog- ram, Powers of the Planning Commission under the State Law, and the relationship between the Planning Commission and the City Council but no action was taken. There being no further business, Alderman Hatfield moved to adjourn. The motion was seconded by Alderman Kent and passed unanimously, whereupon the Mayor declared the meeting adjourned.
