McAllister Jr., and Aldermen: Ralph Barnhart, Lynn Smith, Ellis Burgin, Bruce Lunsford, J. E. McClelland, Herbert Hatfield, and Bryan Walker. Absent: Alderman Dale Kent. f The Mayor reported that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the purchase of lands Purpose of for the Municipal Airport Project and to consider the contract of Wade & McAllister for Meeting handling the leegal work in connection with the water, sewer, and airport projects, and to discuss the purchase of the land at the location of the new city lake, owned by Ray Miller, and that all members had been notified by mail but Alderman Dale Kent was out of the City and had waived notice of the meeting. 1 WAIVER OF NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING. Dated this 6th day of July, 1959 DALE KENT2-ALDERMAN Ray Miller The Mayor reported that Mr. Ray Miller had refused to accept the offer of the City to property, pay $2,500.00 for ten acres (10) of his property at the location of the new City Lake. purchased. The Mayor indicated that Mr. Miller would accept $$2,750.00 for this ten acre tract which (10 acres) would enable the City to straighten the east line of the Ray Miller property. Thereupon Alderman Walker moved that the City accept the offer of Ray Miller and that the City pay to Ray Miller the sum of $2,750.00 for the ten (10) acre tract of real estate on condition that the east line of the Miller property be straightened. The motion was seconded by Alderman Burgin and passed unanimously. -�� The Mayor reported that he had received an appraisal dated July 3, 1959, from the Airport Appraisal Committee of the Fayetteville Board of Realtors, appraising 3.49 acres of real .Land estate owned byy the Crider family adjacent to the municipal airport at $1,250.00 per acre, discussed. or a total of $4,362.50 for the entire 3.49 acres; the 1.81 acre's owned by Mary Lee Bondl adjacent to the municipal airport at $750.00 per acre, or a total of $1,357.50 for the entire 1.81 acres; the 2.18 acres owned by Charlie McCarty and Helen McCarty, husband and wife, adjacent to the municipal airport at $800.00 per acre, or a total of 51,744.00 for the entire 2:18 acres; and that appraisal of the shrubbery located on the Crider real estate was evaluated in the sum of $$2,504.50. Options on The Mayor reported that he had received options from the Crider family to sell the 3.49 Airport acre tract to the City, together with the shrubs growing thereon, for the. total sum of Land $7,757.00(the price per acre being $1,500.00); that he had received an option from discussed. Charlie McCarty and Helen McCarty to sell the 2.18 acre tract, together with improvements thereon, for the total sum of $3,240(the price per acre being 4800.00 and the improvements being evaluated at $1.00 per square foot for 11480 square feet); and that he had also received an option from Mary Lee Bond to sell the 1.81 acre tract for the total sum of $1,448.00 (the price per acre being 0800.00). The Mayor further r6ported that he had received an oral offer from the Crider family to sell 19 acres adjacent to the airport pro pp arty for $19,000.00 payable as follows: $$8000.00 Crider down, $6,000.00 in the year of 1960, and U0000.00 in the year 1961; that this would Property leave the Crider family approximately 2 acres adjacent to U. Alderman Burgin then moved that the City purchase the 19 acre tract from the Crider family for $1,000.00 per acre on the terms outlined by the Mayor, and that the rider family be given the first right of refusal to repurchase within a ten year period any part of said 19 acre,tract should the City elect to sell same for $1,000.00 per acre. Alderman Burgin moved to amend his original motion to allow the 6rider family 15 years instead of 10 years to exercise the first right of refusal in the event the City should elect to sell any part of the 19 acre tract not used by the City and to pay for shrubs destroyed at the price as set forth in Schedule"A" attached to the purchase option executed by the Crider family. rhe amended motion was seconded by Alderman Hatfield and passed unanimously. rhe original motjygnas en �wcpt2}er upon passed unanimously. After a Brief discussion, lderman Hatfield moved that the City endeavor to obtain a six months option to purchase) rom the record owners of this property. he motion was seconded by Alderman Burgin and passed unanimously. he Mayor reported that Wade & McAllister, Attorneys -at --law, Fayetteville, Arkansas, had greed to perform professional legal services for the City in connection with the Curren 5,300,000.00 Waterworks and Sewer Refunding and Improvement Revenue Bond Project and th 180,000.00 Airport Improvement Project, and the City's contemplated acquisition of addi onal real estate adjacent to the airport property and not a part of the current airport mprovement project, for attorney's fees based upon one-half of one per cent of the tota f all sums paid out by the City for lands and/or easements, and the total construction' racts for the water, sewer and airport projects as may be executed and approved by the D 0 . JACKSON'S FIRST ADDITON TO THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS. WHEREAS, there has been duly presented to the City Council of the City of Fayettevi7 Arkansas, a replat of Block 1 and part of Block 6, Jackson's First Addition to the City c Fayetteville, Arkansas, dated May 1959,by which the owners of the replatted real estate have dedicated for the public use the streets, alleys, and easements• shown upon said replat; and WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, has recommended the acceptance of said plat.
