There being no discussion, the Mayor asked the question,"Shall the Ordinance pass"? Upon roll call the following vote was recorded: "Aye" Barnhart, Smith, Burgin, Lunsford, Hatfield, Kent, and Walker. "Nay" None. There being seven "Ayes" and no "Nays", the Mayor declared the Ordinance passed. Alderman Walker then moved.that the emergency clause be adopted. The motion was seconded by Alderman Kent and upon roll call the following vote was rec- orded: "Aye" Barnhart, Smith, Burgin, Lunsford, Hatfield, Kent, and Walker. "Nay" None. There being seven "Ayes" and no "Nays", the Mayor declared the emergency clause adopted. ORDINANCE N0. 1189 AN ORDINANCE RELOCATING THE FIRST FIRE ZONE BETWEEN ROCK STREET AND FIFTEENTH STREET ALONG SOUTH SCHOOL AVENUE AND BETWEEN A NORTH -SOUTH LINE PARALLEL TO AND 140 FEET WEST C THE WEST LINE OF SOUTH SCHOOL AVENUE AND THE WEST LINE OF BUCHENAN AVENUE AS EXTENDED WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The first fire zone is hereby established to include a zone three hundred and forty (340) feet wide, extending one hundred and seventy (170) feet on each side of the center line of South School Avenue, from the north line of Rock Street south to the south line of Fifteenth Street. SECTION 2. The first fire zone is hereby established to include a zone three hundred and sixty (360) feet wide, extending one hundred and eightyy (180)feet on each side of center line of West Sixth Street (Highway 62 West), from a north -south line parallel to and one hundred forty (140) feet west of the center line of South School Avenue west to point on a line parallel with the west line of Buchanan Avenue. d. • i T. Phe City Engineer reported that he had investigated the conditions at the Municipal k•irport,as requested by the Council, and made an estimate of approximately $4,857.00 for all repairs and improvements needed on the Airport Hangar and the Administration Building. After discussion, Alderman Smith moved to refer this to the Airport Committee and the Finance Committee for further study and report. Holway reported that the Southwestern Electric Power Co. had offered the cheapest rates for power over a long period of time, for the new dam and pump station and Power to he recommended that the electric power be purchased from them. be purchased Alderman Hatfield then moved to enter into a contract with the Southwestern Electric from S. W. Power Co. to purchase electricity at the present rate and to instruct Engineer W. N. Electric Holway to prepare plans and specifications for bids for the construction of transmission Power Co. lines to be built from the pump station to the point of service.
