Alderman Smith moved that the rules be suspended and the ordinance placed on its second reading. The motion was seconded by Alderman Williams and passed unanimously. ORDINANCE N0. 1187 AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES ON THE EAST SIDE.OF LOCUST AVENUE BETWEEN SPRING STREET AND DICKSON STREET IN THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation, to park a vehicle of any kind whatsoever on the east side of Locust Avenue between Spring Street and Dickson Street in the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas. SECTION 2. Any person violating Section 1 of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined in the sum of not less thah $1.00 nor more than $25.00. SECTION 3. It appearing that Locust Avenue at the point above described, by reason of heavy traffic, and it being necessary for the protection of the public health and safety, anC.emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage. Purchase bid for the new pickup truck for the Water Department was the one by Abshier-Bryan Moto: of Pickup. Co. of Fayetteville, for $1673.80 and they recommended the purchase of the pickup at thl above low bid. Alderman Walker moved to accept the recommendation of the Board of Public Affairs and purchase a piclup truck for the Water Department, from Abshier-Bryan Motor Co., of Fayetteville, Arkansas, for the low bid which was $1673.80.
