Value of Mrs. Joy Pratt Markham appeared before the Council and discussed the value of the land

WHEREAS, there has been duly presented to the City Council of the City of Fayetteville,
rkansas, a plat dated November 1958, known as Kenilworth Place, anr'Addition to the City
f Fayetteville, Arkansas, and being a part of the Southeast Quarter of the Southeast
uarter, Section 109. Township 16 North, Range 30 West of the 5th Principal.Meridian, by
hich the owners of the platted real estate have dedicated for the public use the streets,

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, has

PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES ON THE EAST.SIDE OF LOCUST AVENUE BETWEEN SPRING
STREET AND DICKSON STREET IN THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS".
Alderman Smith moved that the rules be suspended and the ordinance placed on its second
reading. The motion was seconded by Alderman Williams and passed unanimously.
The Ordinance was then read -for the second time.
Alderman Kent then moved that the rules be further suspended and the ordinance placed
on its third and final reading.
The motion was seconded by Alderman Lunsford and passed unanimously, whereupon the

ORDINANCE N0. 1187
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES ON THE EAST SIDE.OF LOCUST AVENUE
BETWEEN SPRING STREET AND DICKSON STREET IN THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation, to park a vehicle
of any kind whatsoever on the east side of Locust Avenue between Spring Street and
Dickson Street in the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
SECTION 2. Any person violating Section 1 of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined in the sum of not less thah
$1.00 nor more than $25.00.
SECTION 3. It appearing that Locust Avenue at the point above described, by reason of
heavy traffic, and it being necessary for the protection of the public health and
safety, anC.emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage.
