The Mayor reported that the Chief of Police had recently called a meeting of all the Cita

WHEREAS, there has been. duly presented to the City Council of the City of Fayettevi7

TO THE CITY
OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, there has been duly presented to the City Council of the City of Fayette-
ville, Arkansas, a plat dated April 28, 1958, known as Abshier's 2nd Addition to the Cit
of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and being a part of the Southwest Quarter of the Southeast
Quarter of Section Eight(8), Township sixteen(16) Itorth, Range Thirty(30) West, contain!
2.2 acres more or less, by which the owners of the platted real estate have dedicated
for the public use the streets, alleys, and easements shown upon said plat; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, has
recommended the acceptance of said plat.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,
ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, hereby accepts and confirms the
dedication of all streets, alleys, and easements, dedicated in Abshier's 2nd Addition to
the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and hereby declares said streets, alleys and easemen
to be public streets, alleys, and easements; and the said City Council hereby assumes
the care, control and jurisdiction of the same.
Section 2. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force and effect from
and after its passage, approval and publication.

The City Engineer reported that the Sewer Committee has had plans and specifications
prepared and taken bids for a relief sewer of 15 inch and 12 inch size in the Southwest
part of the City to care for the overloading of the sewer mains serving the University
Stadium Area.
The three bids were as follows:

The Sewer Committee will award the contract to the lowibidder when he furnishes• the
necessary performance and payment bond and proceed to have the relief sewer in operatior
before the new student housing is opened in the fall..
The relief sewer is in accordance with Marion L. Crist Engineer's Report on the sewer
system and can be considered an emergency measure.
The route of the sewer will be from 15th Street and Dunn Avenue along Ellis Avenue
thence north on Hill Avenue approximately 300 or 400 feet north of 11th Street, thence
in a northwesterly direction near the stream under the Frisco Railroad and end near the
intersection of U.S. Highway 62 and Garland Avenue.
Alderman Smith moved that the Right of Way Deed for street purposes dated May 22,1958,
from the Baldwin Piano Company, an Ohio corporation,'-•and'the:.Right; 6f:_Way-DBednfor
street purposes, dated April 1, 1958, from William M. Center and Wilma J. Center, to
the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, be accepted .
The motion wase seconded by Alderman Lunsford and passed unanimously.
The City Attorney read a proposed resolution authorizing the filing of application with
the Housing and Home Finance Agency, United States of America, for a loan under the
terms of Public Law 345, 84th Congress,
Alderman Williams moved that the resolution be adopted. The motion was seconded by
Alderman Lunsford and upon roll call the following vote was recorded, "Aye" Smith,
Burgin, Lunsford, Williams, Hatfield, Kent, and Walker. "Nay" None.
There being seven "Ayes" and No "Nays", the Mayor declared the Resolution adopted.
RESOLUTION 9-58
Resolution authorizing filing of application with the Housing and Home Finance Agency,
United metates of America, for a loan under the terms of Public Law 345, 84th Congress.
WHEREAS, under the terms of Public Law 345, 84th Congress, approved August 11, 19
the United States of America has authorized the making of loans to public agencies to
aid in financing the construction of specific public project;
NOVI, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL,OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,
ARKANSAS:
1. That J. Austin'Parish, Mayor, be and he is hereby authorized to execute and
file an application on behalf of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, with the Housing
and Home Finance Agency, United States Government, for a loan to aid in financing the
construction of extensions, betterments, and improvements to the waterworks and sewer
system of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and for the purpose of refunding certain
outstanding sewer revenue bonds and water revenue bonds.

ORDINANCE N0, 1174.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND CORRECTING ORDINANCE N0, 1169, PASSED AND APPROVED ON THE
DAY OF MAY, 1958.
WHEREAS, on the 12th day of May, 19580 Ordinance No. 1169 was passed by the City
Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, but by reason of clerical error, said
Ordinance No. 1169 erroneously described the real estate in Westwood Addition to the Cil
of Fayetteville, Arkansas, intended to be.replatted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 1169 passed and approved by the City
Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, on the 12th day of May,19581 be and the
same is hereby corrected to read as follows:
"Section 1. That the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, hereby accbpts and confirms th
dedication of all streets, avenues, and alleys dedicated in a Replat of Blocks 112,
;5y 41 59 71 8, 92102 110 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17, in Westwood Addition to the City o.
Fayetteville, Arkansas, and hereby declares said streets, avenues, and alleys, to b
public streets, avenues, and alleys; and the said City Council hereby assumes the
care, control, and jurisdiction of the same."
SECTION 2. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed, and this action being necessary for the public peace, safety, order,
comfort, and convenience, within the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, an emergency is
hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval.
