Austin Parish, City Clerk George J. Davis, City Auditor Albert J. Jones, City Attorney A. D. McAllister Jr., City Engineer W. C. Smith, Chief of Police Pearl Watts, Firgg Chief Burl Skelton, and Aldermen: Smith, Burgin, Lunsford, Williams, Hatfield, ifent, and Walker. Absent: None. 8. Sewer --------------------------------------- Parish, Williams, Lunsford The meeting was opened with prayer by Dr. Andrew Hall of the First Baptist Church, after ghich the Mayor gave the oath of office to the new members of the Council Viz, Smith, Fire Chief i & $urgin, Hatfield, and Walker. City Engineer The minutes of the regular meeting on Monday, December, 23, 1957, were read and approved. to prepare Mayor Parish announced that he had made the following selections for the Standing specifications Committees for"the-year of 1958, with the first named in each instance to be the Standing Chairman of his respective committee. Alderman Williams moved that the rules be suspended and the ordinance placed on the second reading. The m6tion'was seconded by Alderman Kent and passed unanimously, whereupon the ordinance was -read for the second time. There being Seven (7J "Ayes" and No "Nays", the Mayor declared the Ordinance passed. 00Bgo0F30RDINANCE N0. 1156 AN ORDINANCE TO ACCEPT AND CONFIRM THE DEDICATION OF ALL STREETS, ALLEYS, AND EASEMENTS, IN FINCHER SUB -DIVISION, A REPLAT OF PART OF BLOCK 2, McCLINTON ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS. WHEREAS, there is duly filed in the office of the Circuit Clerk and Ex -Officio Recorder for Washington County, Arkansas, a plat known as Fincher Sub -Division, a repla of -part of'Block 2, McClinton Addition to the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, dated December,1957; and being -a part of the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section twenty=two; Township sixteen north, Range Thirty West, by which the owners of the platted real estate have dedicated for the public use the streets, alleys, and easements shown upon said plat. NOW:, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL.OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: -Section 1. That the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, hereby accepts and confirms the dedication of all streets, alleys, and easements, dedicated in Nincher Sub -Division, a replat of part of Block 2, McClinton Addition to the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and hereby declares said streets, alleys, and easements, to be public streets, alleys, and easements; and the said City Council hereby assumes the care, control and jurisdiction of the same.. Several other citizens were present and Attorney lames Hale suggested that a citizen's representative meet with this group"also. After a -lengthy discussion,"Alderman Williams moved that the Ordinance Committee meet with a committee from -the -Humane -Society and a Citizen's -Representative to bry and work a solution to this problem. The motion was seconded by Alderman Lunsford and passed unanimously. The City Attorney reported that he had a letter from the Municipal Code Corporation of codify- Tallahassee, Florida, offering to recodify the City Ordinances for the sum of 4850.00, g'of He recommended this be referred to the Ordinance Committee: -for further study. d; After a brief discussion, Alderman -Kent -moved to refer this to the Ordinance Committee scussed. for study and report.
