City Clerk George J. Davis, City Auditor Albert J. Jones, City Engineer W. C. Smith, Chief of Police Pearl Watts, Fire Chief Burl Skelton, and Aldermen: Richardson, Holland, Lunsford, Williams, Kent, and Alexander. Absent•: City Attorney A. D. McAllister Jr. and Aldermen: Parish and Bissett. ,he minutes of the regular meeting on Monday, October 28, 1957, and of the special meeti on November 4, 1957, were read and approved. The Mayor reported that the Street Committee- recommended that the present traffic signal light at School Avenue and Spring Street be changed to a four (4) way yellow blinker light. Contract Mr. Dallas Raney, representing the firm of T. J. Raney & Sons, of Little Rock, Arkansas, with I ppeared before the Council.and explained a proposed contract to negotiate with the T.J.Raley&Sons oval Neighbors of America to finance additional improvements to the sewer system and �vatertivorks system and construction of a new source of water supply and guaranteed in the contract that for any reason,their plan is not accepted, no cost would be incurred by the City. �4lderman Williams reported that the Water Committee had voted unanimously to recommend that the City enter into a contract as presented by Mr. Raney, fter a -brief discussion, Alderman Williams moved that the Mayor and City Clerk be uthori 'ed to sign the contract as presented by Mr. Raney, he motion was seconded by Alderman Bissett and passed unanimously, whereupon the Mayor nd City Clerk signed the contract in the presence of the Council. lderman Lunsford entered at this time and was noted by the clerk. $650*)0 Mr. Richard VFalden and others of the Retail Merchants Committee of the Chamber of Commer for appeared before the Council in regard to the City's share of the Xmas Decoration Fund.
