Present: J.W.McGehee City Clerk, City Attorney A.D.McAllister, City Engineer W.C.Smith, • ity Auditor Albert Jones, City Building Inspector Harold Lieberenz,Police Chief Pearl Watts Fire Chief Burl Skelton, and Aldermen : Richardson,Lunsford, Williams,lAcAllister,Bronsonl and Alexander. Absent: Mayor Roy A Scottc, Aldermen Parish and Hunt. Alderman The absence of Mayor Scott was noted, and Alderman Richardson made a motion that Wi H ams lderman Williams be elected to serve as Mayor Pro -tem during the absence of Mayor Scottl Mayr ;his motion was seconded by Alderman Bronson, which was passed unanimously by the Counci]!. Pro�tem The minutes of the regular meeting of November 7th, were read and approved. The City Building Inspector presented the following applications for Building Permits: . G.W.Morris for a permit to inclose some garages Alderman Richardson made a motion that ermit No. 1394 be issued to G.W.Morris, provided the walls are made of 1 hour fire resiatan materials his motion was seconded by Alderman Bronson, whit was passed unanimously, at the Motel on Trenton Boulev rd) 2. J.Z.Clark for a permit to erect a building for a used car lot, Alderman Richardson made a motion that permit No. 18955be issued to J.Z.Clark, this moti©n was seconded by Alderman jij.exander, which was passed unanimously. The Building Inapector presented the applicatiob of Tom Eads to remodel the ont of the OLD I.G.A Building on the SE corner of the square, Alderman Richardson made motion that Permit No.1907 be issued to Tom Eads, provided a 12" wall is used, this mo- on was seconded by Alderman Lunsford, and was passed unanimously. The Building Inspector presented the application of Fount Allan for a permit at his restaurant on East Mountain Street,After discussion, Alderman Williams made a mo- tion that the Building Inspector be instructed to check back when the original permit was issued for the building,and report back to the Council what the provisions of the permit were at that time, this motion was seconded by Alderman Richardson, and was passed unani- mously. The City Building Inspector reported that Mr Neil B.Ing;EAs had agreed to take th j b of Assistant Building Inspector, with a starting salary of x'7275.00 per month,and that t e following schedule for this office be adopted: eil B.Ing` zb ppointedl SCHEDULE.FOR THE OFFICE OF ASSISTANT CITY BUILDING INSPECT OR. asst City ldg.Insp. 1. That there be a sixty (60) day probation period. 2. That six (6) months after date of employment,the Assistant Building Inspector a tomaticallj receive^.{p25.00 a month raise. 3. After eighteen.(18) months.of full time employment,the Assistant Building In- spector get•an additiomal. raise of 4p15.00 a month if recommended by the City Building Inspector and approved by the Mayor 4. That any•blaket raises granted by the City Council shall not appy to either of raises outlined in items 2 or 3 above. 5. Any additional increases in salary other than those outlined in items 2 and 3 above shall be made only upon the recommendation of the City Building Inspector and the approval of the Mayor and the City Council. 6. The maximum salary for the Assistant Building Inspector shall be 0325.00 per month. However, a minimum of two (2) full years of.employment shall be a prere ji- site to -receive the maximum salary. Alderman Richardson made a motmon that the employrnent'c of Neil B.Ing-r as Assist- nt Building Inspector be approved, in accordance with the schedule for this office, as et out above, this motion was seconded by Alderman McAllister, and was passed unanimously.
