There being no further business, Alderman Alexander moved to adjourn, seconded by

ity limits to make up a homogeneous city which will afford to its several parts the ordi
ary benefits of local government, and

A report of the Planning Commission requesting the Council to pass an ordinance naming
Request two streets was presented, being as follows:
of The Planning Commission requests that an ordinance be passed naming two
Planning streets in the City of Fayetteville.
Commission T he•first appears on the plat of Hotz Addition as an alley thirty feet wide,along
to name the east side of the plat and extending from Hotz Drive to Markham Road. After Hotz Addi4
2 st eets tion was platted, Mr Stewart Thomas, the owner of a tract to the east of Hotz Addition
deeded a strip of land ten feet wide, and extending the entire length of his property,
to the City of Fayetteville for street purposes. This street is now 40 feet in width its
entire length except for a small piece just north of Hotz Drive, and which Mr Thomas did
not own. It is requested that this street be mamed Thomas Avenue.
The second involves what is now known as Hall Avenue,extending from Cleveland
Street to North Street. The Planning Commission is in possession of a request from the

At the time of the adoption of the ordinance this fromtage was considered by the
ommission as on the border line between "E" Commercial and "G" Industrial Zones, and mig
e zoned Either way, and it was finally put in the "E" Commercial Zone. It was the consen
f the Commission at that time that later development might warrant a change. With an in-
reasing use of property in this area generally, the Commission feels that it is now thec
roper time to consider rezoning in compliance with the petition. At the preent time,most
he buildings in the area are of little value as commercial buildings,and a rezoning wou
e of advantage to all -the owners,as well as stableizing and increasing values by permitt
greater variety of uses.
It is recommended that the petition be granted and that a proper ordinance rezon
his area be passed by the Council, subject to a change in the description,pf the petitic
his change in description will extend the north line approximately 75 feet North.
As stated in our findings,it was determined that not all the property owned by
le having frontages on West Sixth Street had been included in the petition. Thecextra de
o the north should be included in the rezoning, as none of these pieces can now be reach
xcept from West Sixth Street, and under the terms of the zoning ordinances,these pieces,
ven if zoned as in a residential area,could not be used for residential purposes because
hey have ho fromtage on a street or avenue as required by the ordinance. All the extra

REPORT OF PLAIdIQIIdG COML?ISSION on Rezoning:
In the matter of the petition of George Puckett for rezoning of a certain tract
ronting on the North side of West Sixth Street,(Highway 62)between Razorback Road and So
�arland Avenue.
This petd)tion was referred to the Planning Commission by the City Council.
The
Commission at a duly called meeting held on October 7th with a quorum present, has ca
lly considered the above petition and makes the following findings and recommendations:
FINDINGS: The property affected is at the present time zoned in part as "E" Comme
c'al and part as "D" Residential ares. At the time of the adoption of the Zoning Ordinanc
the portion zoned as "E" Commercial area extended northerly 150 feet from the establish
north line of West Sixth Street, (then known as Highway 622 or Wall Street). This distanc
as used so as to conform to the Fire Ordinance which had placed this portion in the Firs
ire Zone. To the best obtainable information,the owners of the tracts fromting on West S
Street all own a greater depth than 150 feet.
On the South side of West Sixth Street opposite the property affected, on both aid
of Sixth Street west of Razorback Road, the properties are now zoned as "G" Industrial ar

At the time of the adoption of the ordinance this fromtage was considered by the

f the Commission at that time that later development might warrant a change. With an in-
reasing use of property in this area generally, the Commission feels that it is now thec
roper time to consider rezoning in compliance with the petition. At the preent time,most
he buildings in the area are of little value as commercial buildings,and a rezoning wou
e of advantage to all -the owners,as well as stableizing and increasing values by permitt
greater variety of uses.
It is recommended that the petition be granted and that a proper ordinance rezon
his area be passed by the Council, subject to a change in the description,pf the petitic
his change in description will extend the north line approximately 75 feet North.
As stated in our findings,it was determined that not all the property owned by
le having frontages on West Sixth Street had been included in the petition. Thecextra de

ven if zoned as in a residential area,could not be used for residential purposes because
