he City Building Inspector presented the application of Jack Bartholomew for a permit

nspector, this motion was seconded by Alderman Richardson, and was passed unanimously b

The Building Inspector presented the application of E.F.Norwood for a permit
or Campbell & Bell Alderman Burge made a motion that Permit N0.1263 be issued to E.F.
orwood, this motion was seconded by Alderman Richardson, and was passed unanimously by

eadow Street, Alderman Pratt made a motion that Permit N0.1264 be issued to A.J.Head,

Mr Hugh Scarbrough presented the 1953 Audit of the City's Finances, prepared by
carbrough & Myers, Certified Public Account ants, Alderman Richardson,Chairman of the
finance Committee,made a motion to approve and accept the Audit as presented, this motio
as seconded by Alderman Pratt, and was passed unanimously by the Council.
Alderman Richardson made a motion that a copy of the AVdit br filed with the City
lerk of Fayetteville,,Arkansas, one with the County Clerk of Vlesh-
ngton County, and one with S_A VDIRECTOR OF FINANCE, This motion was seconded by Alder
lexander, and was passed unanimously by the Council.
Alderman Richardson made a motion that a Notice be published in the Northwest Ark
imes that a copy of the a9dit is on file with the City Clerk and with the County Clerk,
nd that they are open for inspection at any time by the public,this motion was seconded
lderman Pratt, and was passed unanimously by the Council.
Alderman Richardson reported that the bills had been approved by the Auditing
ommittee, amid made a motion that they be allowed, as approved,' this motion was seconded
y Alderman Heflin, and was passed unanimoVsly by the Council.
In regard to to the Petition of Gus A.Henbest for rezoning on North Garland
venue, the Planning Commission made the following report: At a meeting Idarch 8th,by una
mous vote,it was recommended that the'petition be denied,Alderman Burge made a motion t
the report be received and filed, this motion was seconded by Alderman Heflin, and was
nanimously by the Council.
A'Petition signed by 38 Citizens in the vicinity bf Block 5, Original Town,
as presented, asking the Council not to make a one way drive of the North-South alley
n said block, and further that there be NOPARKING allowed in said alley for a greater pe
f time than is necessary to load and/or unload materials for out or in destination.

The City Engineer presented Estimate No.4 of Stewart Electric Co.for work at the
clear Creek Pumping Station, amounting to y`p278.55,Alderman Richardson made a motion that
Estimate No.4 be approved, this motion was seconded by Alderman Pratt,_and was passed
nanimously by -the Council.
The City Engineer presented Estimate No 8 of Tune Construction Co.for work on
Tt.Sequoyah Filter Plant, amounting to ,$4,210.93, Alderman Pratt.made a motion that Estimate

The Mayor presented the proposay of the Midwest Hide & Skin Corporation to buy thm

Midwest Hide & Skin Corporation that the City was not interested in the sale of the land,
