The City Building Inspector presented the application of Tune Constructioh for a permi o remodel the the Hathcock Clinic Bldg, Alderman Kent made a motion that Permit No.1200 e issued'to Tune Construction Co. this motion was seconded. by Alderman Pratt, and was assed unanimously by the Council. The City'Building Inspector presented the application of F.A.Pothast for a perm: t 1140 North CoLjege Ave. Alderman Heflin made a motion that Permit No. 1206 be issued .A.Pothast; this motion was seconded by Alderman Burge, and was passed unanimously by he Council. The City Attorney introduced "AAI ORDINANCE TO FIX LICENSE FEES ASSESSED ON OTOR JrEHICLES ARID TRAILERS OW E AND OPERATED WITHIN THE CITY OF FAYET':'EVILLE." The Ordinance was read in its entirety by the City Attorney, and by agreement w eferred to the Ordinance Committee for study and recommendation. Alderman Kent reported that the bills had been audited and signed, and made a ion that they be allowed as approved, this motion was seconded by Alderman Richardso: was passed unanimously by the Council. The Mayor presented a'letter from the Board of Public Affairs, which recommeded he purchase a 1954 Motorcycle, Alderman Pratt made a motion that the Mayor be authorize( o purchase a 1954 Motorcycle and to trade in the Old one for the best'price obtainable, his motion was seconded by Alderman McAllisye`r,�and was passed unanimously by the Counc: The question of the amount being paid members of the Police and Fire Depart- ents for their phone bills,was pre"sented,and it was brought out that at present they we eing paid 4;68 per monhth, which was less than the bills amounted to, Alderman Williams ade a motion that they be paid an amount to equal the present current rate of a two - arty line per month, this motion was seconded by Alderman Richardson, and was passed nanimoudly by the Council. The Mayor stated tOW that he had requests for street lights that had been approved by the Light Committee., as follows: at Sutton and Olfive,Dickson and Olive, Street ickson and Fletcher, North and P,4ission, 'and- there was no objection, he would ,ights rder them in. The City Building Inspector presented the application of Leonard Kelley for Buildi7 'ermit at the Monterey Motel, Alderman Burge made a motion that Bu'lding Permit N0.1213 le issued to Leonard Kelley, this motion was seconded by Alderman Kent, and was passed manimously by the Council. The City Engineer presented Estimate No. 6 of Tune Construction Co. for work on the Filter Plant amounting to 18,911.56, Alderr,ian Pratt made a motion that the Estimat be approved, this motion was seconded by Alderman Williams, and was passed unanimously by the Council. The City Attorney introduced a Resolution for an exemption order from the CIVIL AERONAUTICS Board authorizing the immediate provision of scheduled air transports tion to the City of Fayeeyteville, Alderman Williams made a motion that the Resolution be adopted, this _potion was seconded by Alderman I;4cAllister and was passed unanimously by the Council. RESOLUTION NO. 17-53. RESOLVED, that the Mayor and -the City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized to petition the Civil Aeronaut icsBoard, Vlashington, D.C.,for an exemption order under the CIVIL AERONAUTICS ACT authorizing the immediate.provision of scheduled air transporta- tion to the City of Fayetteville. That the license tax assessed in Section l of this Ordinance is for a period oI' ne year or fractional portions thereo£,said yeex beginning January 1 and ending ecember 31, and is due and payable after Janizary 1 and on or before the last day of ebruary of each year. If a vehicle subject to the license tax as hereinabove set .forth s purchased or otherrise 'acquired after the.last day of February in any applicable year he fractional yearly tax as'provided above shall become due and payable within ten (10) ays from the date of purchase or acquisition and satisfactory evidence of the date of uch purchase or acquisition shall be presented at the time of application for motor ehicle license. TION 3. A twenty (20) per cent penalty on each license fee as set forth hereinabove beach to all such licenses which are -not paid within the time limits set forth Section 2 of this Ordinance.Issuance of and /or receipt of any license provided for this ordinance for any amount less than -the amount due and payable at the time of lication for said license is expressly made a violation of this Ordinance.- ECTION 4. That upon the payment of the license fee provided for by -this Ordinance,there hall be issued to the applicant a license plate, tag,or sticker, having there p the name f the City and a serial number, and a record shall be maintained by the official issuing he license containing the mame of -the applicant,a description of the vehicle,date of ssuance,and the number of plate,tag or sticker. ECTION 5. That in consideration of the services rendered by officers serving the City either by election or appointment,and also all duly authorized employees who serve the ity in the capacity as a permanant employee, be and he is hereby entitled to one annual icense free of charge for his or their personal vehicle only. 9 I 371; (ORDINANCE N0. 1059- Continued) • Jection 6. Applicants for motor vehicle- licenses provided for by this ordinance shall pre- sent, at the time of application, information evidencing the make,year model,and body type of passenger car;make, year and model of motorcycle or motor scooter;make,year model, ross loaded v-Jeight of truck as established for' purpose; of obtaining State of Arkansas ruck license; make and year model of trailer used with truck tractor. ' FCTION 7, That each license plate, tag, or sticker issued under the terms of this Ordinaice sTaZI-Fe affixed to the vehicle as follows: (1) Vehicle license stickers shall be affixed to a prominently visible place insi f the front -windshield. (2) All other license plates or tags shall be affixed to a prominently visible T.lace on the rear of such licensed vehicle. .ECTION S. That the license fee asseded under the terms of this Ordinance shall apply to olil m� vehicles owned and -/or operated by any resident, person,persons,firm,corporatio r associations on the streets and /or alleys of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas. ECTION 9. This Ordinance shall not apply to students attending any school, college, or ers y nivwho are not bona fide residents'of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas; owever, each such student must have displayed on his vehicle the duly issued school,Colllge I university vehicle license or registration plate, tag,or sticker. EJECTION 10. That this Ordinance shall apply to all persons,firms, corporations,or associa Ions dealing in new or used motor vehicles within the limits of the City of Fayetteville Arkansas',who are required to purchase a dealertslicense for such vehicles from the State of Arkansas. Each such Dealer shall be required to purchase one master dealer's licensg nd as many additional dealeris'license as are necessary to provide each such new or, -used ar operated on the streets or alleys of the City of Fayetteville,Ar}sansas,with a dealer, license plate,tag or sticker. ECTION 11. That upon the presentation of satisfactory evidence that.a previously issued icensehas been either lost or destroyed, or that the motor vehicle for which such licemse ad been originally issued has been stolen,sold or exchanged, a transfer license shall beliss ssued at a cost of twenty-five cents (25p) to the applicant therefor. ECTION 12, That any person, firm, corporation or association violating any provision of fish OrTinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof,shall e fined in any sum not exceed6ng Ten (I.Q) Dollars and each day such violation continues hall constitute a se�erate offense. The provisions of this Ordinance are severable and if any part or provision . be held void, the remaining parts of this Ordinance shall not be affected aired. TION 14. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the e are erby repealed.
