Alderman Williams made a motion that M.A.Stice be employed as Manager of Lake •

contract seconded by Alderman McAllister, and on roll call by the Clerk, the following vote was
renewed recorded: Ayes: Richardson, Hunt, Pratt, Williams, McAllister and Kent. Nays:Heflin,

Alderman Heflin presented a petition signed by a number of property located on
South College Avenue, asking that something be done to the St'�e�et to makeoAi'sable during'
nain§,a�s it is all torn up on account of the sewer line being�id connections being made.
Th�Yinstructed the Street Foreman to spread some gravel on the street, so as to improve
e street temporarily.
_ Alderman Richardson made a motion that the City Engineer be instructed to pre-
pare pare specifications and estimate of cost for floor and wall covering of City Hospital
plans Corridors and for rooms lo2 & lo3, according to plans submitted to the Iiospital Board,'

Alderman 'Nilliams made a motion that the ordinance regulating the hanging of
signs in the City of Fayetteville be -referred to the Building Committee for study and
recommendations, this motion was sec.nded by Alderman Richardson, and was passed unanimou ly
by the Council.
There being no further business, Alderman Kent moved to adjourn, seconded
by Alderman Heflin, which was passed unanimously by the Council, and the Mayor declared t e

ore the Council to complain about the condition of East Prospect Street which had been

p otest make the repairs on theif street was going to be diverted to the improvement of the Airpor
and they' wanted to register their disapproval, if this report was true,They were informed
by the Mayor and Council members that the X410,000 intended for the Airport was to come ou
of the CONTINGENT FUND, and would not affect the repair of Prppect Street, and that the
work on the Street would be done as soon as sufficient rains fall to allow the City to do
a good job.
To change Mr.WJ.H.Pryor, Chairman of the Planning Commission, proposed a number of change
n the names of streets, Alderman McAllister made a motion to accept the recommendations

UNDER the authority of Ordinance No.953, dated 15 August 1949,Fayetteville, Arkansas,
he following rules -and regulations governing the connections,sale and use of untreated
ater from raw transmission lines of the City Water P1ant,Fayetteville2' Arkansas,shall blco
ffective upon approval of the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
1. All serviceconnections, Including the service line and meter installation
hall -be made by authorized employees of the City Water Plant and shall be of the same de
nd materials as required within the corporate limits of the City of Faye tteville,Arkans,
2. Charges for the costof installing service connections shall be the same as
harged to consumers within the corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,
hould permits and charges for crossing Ai;kansas State Highways be required by the State
ighway Department the consumer shall secure such permits and pay these charges to the

3. The Water Superintendent may refuse to authorize connections if in his judgme
ealth and safety -to thepublic may be endangered or the water supply for the City of Fa)
tteville may be affected.
4. Before a meter.is installed and the water turned on,the prospective customer
ust execute an agreement or contract for service,make the required customers deposit
ith the City Water Department, and have the plumbing inspected by the City Plumbing In-

5. Water service may be termihated permanantly or temporarily at the request of

he consumer, or upon failure of the consumer to pay the monthly charges within the prescribed

eriod, or during emergencies in which the supply of water to the consumers within the
.orporate limits of Fayetteville is inadequate, or failure on the part of the consumer t
%omply with these regulations.
6. Inasmuch as these transmission lines may be used intermittantly and are not
onnected to a reservoir for maintenance of continuous supply, periods of time may exist
lhen pressure in the line may not be sufficient to furnish water tovrconsumers. The City f
Fayetteville will not assume. responsibility for maintaining a continuous supply of water
n these lines.
7. All plumbing for which the water is to be connected must meet the requiremen s ci
f the State Plumbing Code: The consumer will permit entrance to his premises by authorized
ity inspectors at any time, for the purpose of determining if cross connections with oth r
later sources such as wells,streams, springs and ponds. Such cross connections, if found
o exist,shall be full justification for permanantt-cancellation of contract for service
nd water service will be discontinued immediately.
8. All untreated water sold will be used for other purposes than drinking,cook
ng,di'shwashing and any purpose which may be dangerous to the health and safety of the
ersons using. The City of Fayetteville assumes no liability by reason of the use of the
ntreated water for any purpose.
9. All untreated water will be measured through meters. Meters will be read on
ach month by authorized employees of the City of Fayetteville.

10. The following service charges in effect for outside corporate limit consumers
f treated water shall apply to consumers of untreated water; Monthly Meter Service Cha
nd Monthly *Outside City Limits Service Charge.
11. Bills'will be rendered monthly, based on the following rates for water con

a. Rate for water. consumed will be 2V per thousand gallons or faction
thereof with a mimimum charge of P1.00

hought he could sell for 5p75.00, Alderman Pratt made a motion that the Mayor be authorized
o sell the truck, this motion was seconded by Alderman Burge, and was passed unanimously,
