It appearing that G.W'.Shirley & Sons were the lowest and best bidder) Alderman Burge mad a motion that the bids'be referred to -the City Engineer to check, and if he approves the id of Shy"rlyy_&;:,•Sons, that the contract'be awarded to them and that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to 'sign the contract,•this motion was seconded by Alderman Williams, and was passed unanimously by the Council. The City Building Inspector presented the application of Rosco B.Kuhn for a building Permit at 207 W.Dickson: Alderman Burge made a motion that Building Permit No 1052 be issued to Rosco B.Kuhn•, this motion was seconded by Alderman Pratt and was passed unan- imously by the Council. The City Building Inspector presented the application -of E.C.Aumick fov a Bldg Permi at 17 W.Rock, Alderman Burge made a motion that Permit'No. 1054 be issued to E.C.Aumick, this motion was seconded by Alderman Pratt, -and was passed unanimously by the Council. T}e City Building Inspector presented the application of the Yellow Cab Co,for a Bldg Permit on North Block Ave., Alderman Williams made amotion that Permit No. 1057 be issued to the Yellow Cab Co., this motion was seconded by Alderman Burge, and was passed unanimously by the Council. lle Hall The Mayor reported that there were two vacacies on the Board of Assessors of Paving (District No 562 caused by the death of J.E.Parker�and the resignation of S.J,Campbell on Sullivanaccount of ill health, and stated that the Commissioners of"the District had recommended (the appointment of Orville J.Hall and Claude C.Sullivan to fill the vacancies, Alderman' inted Pratt made a motion that the recommendation of the Commissioners be approved , this moti ssors was seconded by Alderman Williams, ans was passed unanimously by the Council FM itl t 7 Alderman Williams made a motion that the Mayor be authorized to sign a petitibn Mayor to seeking air service for Fayetteville, under the plan the Chamber of Commerce of Dallas, sire- exas will represent a number of cities in various states adjoining the Dallas area, in quest for seeking air service, this motion was seconded by Alderman Pratt, and was passed unanimously air, service by the Council. Y y the 18 Pet on of dic petition, signed by a number of property owners and citizens in the -vicinity near,:where ition the garbage is being buried, was read which protested the method of garbage disposal, the method Mayor stated that the City had been using a bulldoser 'rented from R.A.Young & Son,and tha garbage the condition had been greatly improved, 'he said that Mr Young was going to take the mach posal do Ft.Smith and have it overhauled and would returnit to Fayeettevile for the City to use on a ental basis until a deal could be worked out"for the City to buy one, a letter from the St Board of Health was also read in which it was suggested that'a bulldoser be used t land 11 some of the material now being thrown on the dump as well as'for the garbage.
