• Present':Mayor Powell M.Rhea, City Clerk J.W.McGehee,City Auditor Harrold Zick,and Aldermel:
Adljourned Richardson; Burge, Hunt, Pratt, Williams and Heflin. Absent:Aldermen McAllister and Kent;
Meeting ( The Mayor. -stated that this was the time set for opening of the bids for the construl
ion of a new. Filtration P1ant,Contract 2 of Waterworks Improvement, which proceedT4s.,land
howed that the following bids were submitted:
Forsgren Bros.Construction Co. $p1690465.00
Tune Const. Davidson-Steele,Inc. 158,589.00
McClelland Enginerring & CInstructlon Co. 154,709.00
ICO . Enix Construction Co. 1782213.00
Low bidder Langley Construction Co. 189,949.00
Cannady Construction Co. 1742880.00 .
Tune Construction Co. 148,954.27
Alderman Pratt made a motion that the Contract for Section 2, Filter Plant be awarded to
he lowest and best bidder,the Tune Construction Company in the amount of $1489954.27,
and that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to enter into a contract for said work,
his motion was seconded by Alderman Hunt and was passed unanimously by the Council.
The Mayor stated that this was,also,the time set for the opening of the bids
for the ELECTRICAL WORK, for Clear Creek Pump Station and Mount Sequoyah Filtration Plant,
which proceeded,and showed the following bids were submitted:
Tune Construction Co. $59098.00
Stewart Stewart Electric Co. 3,577.13
Alectric Co Rogers Electric Co. 31955.00
Low bidder.
Alderman Burge made a motion that the contract for The Electrical Work for Clear Creek
Pump Station and -Mount Sequoyah Filtration Plant be awarded.to the lowest and best bidder,
the Swart Electric Company in the amount of $3,577.13, and that the Mayor and City Clerk
be authorized to enter into a contract for said work. This mobip.on was seconded -by Alder -
Hunt, and was passed unanimously by the Council*
There being no further business, Alderman Heflin made a.motion to adjourn till
Wednesday, May 13th, at 4:00 O'Clock, P.M., this motion was seconded by Alderman Richardi
son, and was passed unanimously by the Council, and the Mayor declared the.Council adjourn
till Wednesday, May 13th, at 4;00 P.M.

meeting ngineer John Mahaffey, City Auditor Harold Zick, and Aldermen: Richardson, Hunt, Pratt,
illiams, MCAllister2nHeflin and Kent. Absent :Alderman Surge.
The Mayor statedr'.that the Council meeting had been adjourned to meet at this
Issue of time to determine the amount of bonds to be issued to cover the cost of construction
of the Filter Plant on Mount Sequoyah and to provide $25,000,00 to be placed Ln an
$200'y'000 bmergency Fund', and
h Alderman Richardson made a motion that Bonds be issued in the amount of
Bonds `200,.000.00, of which $p175,000.00 is to cover cost of construction of Filter Plant, and
825,000.00 to be -placed in an Emergency Fund as required by Ordinance N0.1040, passed and
approved by the Council December 1521952. This motion was seconded by Alderman Williams
and on roll call by the Clerk, the following vote was recorded: Ayes:Richardson,Hunt,
Pratt, Williams, McAllister, Heflin and Kent. Nays:None. Absent and not voting: Burge.
Amd the Mayor declared the motion passed, as there were 7 Ayes, and no Nays.
The Mayor stated that there was to be a meeting of the EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE of the
Arkansas Municipal League at Little Rock, IuIay 20th, Alderman Richardson made a motion that
the Mayor be authorized to attend the, meeting, this motion was seconded by Alderman Pratt,
and was passed unanimously by the Council.
There being no further business, Alderman Heflin made a motion to adjourn, this
notion was seconded by Alderman Kent, and was passed unanimously by the Council, and the
Mayor declared the Council adjourned.
