The Ordinance was read in its entirety by the City Attorney,Alderman Burge In e a motion that the Ordinance be referred to the Planning Commission for recommendation t' s motion was seconded by Alderman Richardson, and on roll call by the Clerk the followi vo e was recorded; Ayes: Richardson and Burge. NAYS: Hunt, Pratt, Williams, McAllister, - He lin and Kent. And the Mayor declared the motion lost, as there were 2 Ayes and 6 Nays. Easement Alderman Richardson made a motion that the following clause be added to the for Or finance:"reserving unto said City an easement over and across the above described alley- utilitiesw for construction and maintenance of public utility lines". This motion was sdconded by Alderman McAllister, and on roll call by the Clerk, the folloliing vote was -'recorded; Ayes: Rilchardson, Burge; Hunt, Pratt, Williams, McAllister and Kent. Lays: Heflin. And the Mayor declared the motion passed, as there were 7 Ayes, and 1 Nay. After the above "RESERVE CLAUS w inserted and read again, Alderman Pratt made a,motiori that the Ordinance pass, this motion was seconded by Alderman Hunt, and on roll call by the Clerk, the following vote was re orded,-'Ayes: Richardson ,Burge, Hunt, Pratt, Williams, McAllister, Heflin and Kent. Nabes:None. And the Mayor declared the Ordinance passed, as there were 8 ayes, and no nays. The Ordinance was read in its entirety by the City Attorney, Alderman Kent made motion that the Ordinance pass, this motion°was seconded by Alderman Burge, and on roll all by the Clerk, the followrxng vote -was recorded; Ayes: Richardson, Burge, Hunt, Pratt, illiams, McAllister, Heflin and Kent. It shall be unlawful for any unauthorized person, firm or corporation o drive any Vehicle -over any"public street and/or alleyway in the corporate limits of ti ity of Fayetteville, Arkansas, where there is a barrier,or person,or sign warning not to ross and /or enter said street and /or alleyway. SECTION 2. It shall be unlavfful-for any person,firm or corporation to'barricade street anor alleyway in the corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas, out the prior written approval of the Chief of Police of said City. SECTION 3. It "shall be unlawful for any unauyhorized person, firm or corporati o remove any barriers and /or signs.ercted on any of the streegs and /or alleyways wit he corporate limits of the Ciyy of Fayetteville, Arkansas. , SECTION 4. Alderman Pratt introduced a'Resolution asking the State Highway Department to re- urface College Avenue from Rock Street -to North Street, Alderman Williams made a motion hat the Resolution be adopted, undsa.i:cert fled copyderit'ayo .Gdver-nor Sid McMdth, ommissioner of State Highway, Orville Faubus and.A.C.Mowery This motion was seconded by Alderman Hunt, and was passed unanimously by the ouncil. /260\ COPY OF RESOLUTION No., 52 WHEREAS,College Avenue from Rock"Street go North Street in the City of F Arkansas is part of U.S.Highway 71 and U.S.Highway 62; WHEREAS, said College Avenue is an a very poor state of repair by reason of avy traffic passing over this section of street for the past twenty-five years; WHEREAS, there is iri the Northwest area of the State materials and equipment a contractor presently engaged in hot asphalt resurfacing of highways; WHEREAS,it is believed that College Avenue could not be resurfaced at a consid- rable saving in cost to the Highway Department; NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Arkansas Stste Highway Department be and t is hereby requested to resurface all of that section of College Avenue from Rock Stree o North Street within the City of Fayettevllle, Arkansas. • PASSED and APPROVED this 9th day of Attest . of R64Z_ i y Clerk June, 1952, Approved <2?9.
