Minutes of the regular meeting of January 2nd, were read and approved.

4,199.13. Alderman Richardson made a motion that Estibmate No.5 be approved and a warran
ssued for that amount to E.V.Bird Construction Co: This motion was seconded by Alddrman
illiams and was gassed unanimously by the Council.
The City Engineerpresented Estimate No. 1, on Reservoir No.21 for steel placed or
he job,amounting to .gip 1,204.3%lderman Williams made a motion that Estimate No 1, be ap-
roved and a warrant issued for that' amount to E.V.Bird Construction'Co., This motion wa.

Alderman Pratt introduced an ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0.1014 RELATING
0 THE C•ONSTRUCTION,INST'ALLATION AND INSPECTION OF PLUMBING AND•,DRAINAGE.
The Ordinance was read in its entirety by Alderman Pratt, Alderman Williams
ade a motion that the ruled be suspended and the Ordinance placed on its second reading
his motion was seconded by Alderman Richardson and was passed unanimously by the Council.
Alderman Pratt then read2the-eOrdinance4 the .second time, .'and after discussion, Alderman
illiamd made a motion that Section 1 be deleted -Prom the Ordinance -and referred to the
rdinande Committee for further study and report -back to the Council at the next regular
eating; this motion was seconded by Alderman Richardson, and was passed unaimously by
he Council.'
Alderman Richardson then made a motion that the rules be further suspended and
he Ordinance placed on its third and final reading, this motion was seconded by Alderman
eflin, and was passed unanimously by the Council.
Alderman Pratt then read the Ordinance the third and final time.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 1014 RELATING TO THE CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATION
AND INSPECTION OF PLU14BING AND DRAINAGE.
NOW,THEREYORE,BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville
Arkansas:
Section 1. That Item 4, Paragraph 2, Section 6 of Ordinance. 1014 be amended to
read as o ows:
Payment in advance of a fee as shall be estabjtished upon the approval of the
Fayetteville City Council and the recommendations of the Examining Board.
Section 2.Thab Paragraph B,Section 6 of Ordinance No. 1014 be omitted.
Section 3. Conflicting Ordinances Repealed . Al1.Ordinances or parts -of ordinances
in confl c with y"or7he provisions ft is ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 4. The City Council hereby finds that the public has been and will be
injuredroug improper plumbing and improper construction of sewage and drain, -pipes
and that this ordinance is necessary for the public health and safety,an emergency is
hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from an
after its passage and approval.

The Mayor presented a statement from the Arkansas Municipal Les*gue for the 1952 dues
amounting to $512.13. based on 3� per capita of the City of Fayetteville 1950 census,

bard and our appreciation -for the interest ih'the Fayetteville City Hospital as shown
y yourself, the City Council, and -the Hospital Committee we give you herewith two reso-
utions passed by unanimous vote at a call meeting on December 17, 1951:
"Moved by H.A.Lewis and seconded by W.C.47hitfield that we express to the City
;,ouncil and the members of the City Hospital Committee from the City Council for their
interest and attendance at this meeting.•We-"further wish to express our appreciation for
the improvements made -on the -buildings -to date'and request the City Council to spend the
balance of the" -City Hospital -Bond Fund,$37,000;00.or there -a -bout, on repairs and altera
tions, floors and floor coverings and other improvements discussed by their committee.
Further that the Board of Control of"the City Hospital wishes to extend'an'invitation to
the`Hospital Committee of the City Council to meet with us at all regular and'ealled mee
ings so that we 6an' continue to work together for the benefit of our hospital. Motion
