Mr.H.W.Younkin, President of the University City Transit Co. appeared before the Council
Bus and asked to make the following changes in bus routes during the summer months:
dule
i1.'Me propose toadd a new Route;on a trial basis;oiat ori Huntsville Road (Highway No.16 East)
as far as Dreke's store. Although there was -not --enough patronage to justify a -route there
several years ago when it -was given's. trial;we are hoping that Jrhe situation has changed as
'a result of the rapid increase in population in that area
I .Csayy."
t
2. In order to give -the peopIDe on Highway 71 South to Greenland better serviee, vge propose to
Ad an additional bus trip at 1:30 P.M. and change the time of our last morning trip from
le30 to 11130 A.M.°
3. In order to give the people on the above routes a chance to use the bus service
o a greater extent, we wish to reduce service on some of the other routes where insuffim
dent ,patronage has been a handicap for several months, proposing the following changes:)
(A) combine the Veteran' hospital and Mission Street Routes, still giving hourly,
ervice to both, but eliminating -part of Mission Street extending from either Rush Drive or
,rospect to the Old'Wire Road and aldo eliminating the Mission Street extension up Assembly
)rive to Mt.Sequoyah,
(B)'Give hourly service instead of -40 minute Service'to both Lverett Street and
,everett School, combining the latter with one of the University"routes and eliminating
;he 'two -block extension ori Cleveland west of :Leverett'School, Hourly service to Terry
pillage, eliminating the extra busses giving service every half hour early in the morning
uld let in the evening.
