Monday evening February 19th;1951, at the City Administration Building for the purpose of

EPEALING ALL ORINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE* ARKANSAS:
action 1. From and after the passage ,and approval of this'ordinanee, all-garbage,,waste
rid refuse in the. Cit.— -of-Fayetteville,- Arkansas shall be collected regularly by'the employ-
es of the -City of Fayetteville;Ark"ansas and for said services the Sanitation Departmentl-
f the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,or its duly authorized employees, shall collect fees
s set out in th8:>following schedule: ,
A:fee of Two Dollars and twenty-five cents ($2.25) per quarter, payable in advance,'
s hereby levied for each single family dwelling house actually occupied as a residences
B. A --fee of'Two Dollars and twenty-five cents ($2.25) per quarter, payable in advance,
is -hereby levied for each seperate unit of a multiple family dwelling house actually occu-
pied as a residence.
C. The fees"mentioned in this Ordinahce and particularly in Sub -Section A and B of this
Section are hereby levied on -and collectible from the person who in contemplation of
the law is the head of the family residing in the dwelling house unit. "The head of
the -family" -is defined as one who controls, supervises and/or mamages the affairs
about the house."
D. In the' event that in contemplation of law there is no head of the family,the fees
set out above are hereby levied on and shall be collectilble from each adult residing
on the -premises, provided however, that nit more than one fee per quarter shall be
paid for each dwelling house unit in which there is no head of a family
E. All' -business and/or commercial houses, boarding houses, rooming houses, fratertity
houses, and sorority houses and other similar establishments shall be charged the
following rate:
Daily Service (Except Sunday)........Twenty Seven Dollars per quarter
_Three times a week ..... Thirteen Dollars& 50cents "
Twice a week .... Nine Dollars per quarter
Once a week ......-, Four Dollare & 50 cents "
The -person* firm'or corporation being served shall,have the right to designate the number
of -calls per'week"which in his judgment are required in order to keep the premises in a
Isanitary oondition,and-free from fire hazard, and the rate charged shall be determined by
the number of weekly calls made. provided, however, that in the event the number of calls
aper week as fixed by -the person.'firm, or corporation receiving the service is insufficient
�o.keep said -premises in a sanitary condition and free from fire hazard, additional service
may be rendered at the request of the Mayor; the City Health Officer, the Sanitation
lcommittee� or the Fire -Chief, as the case may be, and the charge for such additional calls
shall be added to'the above"rate and collected iii the same manner as if the property owner
had designatedthe additional_-'ealls-'as necessary,--
WHBREAS it is necessary to take proper precaution and regulations for the
collection of garbage, the proper collection of same is necessary for the protection of the
citizens of the City of Fayetteville- Arkansas, an emergency is hereby declared to exist Id
