Alderman Bohe introduced an -'Ordinance, entitled " AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING ISE PURCHASE OF ONE UTILITY BILLING MACHINE FOR THE BUSITESS OFFICE OF THE CITY OF AYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS AND FOR OTHER`.,PURPOSES. "G. The Ordinance was read in its entirety by., the Clerk, Alderman McGoodwin made a otion that all rules, requiring the second and third reading of the Ordinance be sus - ended, and that the Ordinance be passed, this motion was seconded by Alderman Kent, and n roll call by the Clerk, the following vote was recorded; Ayes: Richardson, Feathers, cGoodwin, Bohe, Kincaid and Bent; Nays: White. Absent and not voting: Alderman Williams. And the Mayor declared the Ordinance passed, as there were 6 Ayes, and 1 nay. COPY OF ORDINANCE NO 976. AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE UTILITY BILLING MACHINE FOR THE IUSINESS OFFICE OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKAAiSAS AND FOR OTLR DURPOSES. ^lHEREAS, the Business Office of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas is in need of a utility billing machine to replace the present rented -,used machine which is worn eyond economical repair,. for the typing,* computing, and 'combining the bills for the arious services rendered by the City of Fayetteville'intoone statement, and the fur_c- ions required of the Business Office cannot be maintained without the purchase of said tility billing machine. ` Now, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUI•ICIL-OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLS, ARKANSAS: Section 1. There is hereby appropriated- the sum of Five Thousand Six Hundred Seventy ($5,670) Dollars for the purpose of purchasing one utility billing machine. Section 2. The Board of Public 4ffairs is hereby directed to advertise for bid: said billing machine to meet the needs of•the Business Office as set forth in their mmendation and to proceed with the awarding of a contract and the purchase of said ing machine as provided by Section 19-1022 et seq and to arrange for delivery of said ing machine at the earliest possible time. Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and aft s passage. PASSED and APPROVED this 7th day of August, 1950. A petition was presented asking' the City to abandono�&Ptiof Lots 5 and 6, Block. 4;�?{, ity Park Addition, Alderman 6'flaite made a motion that the request be referred to the;i� ' treet Committee for study and to make recommendations at the next regular meeting oi•,`,ne ouncil,•this motion was seconded by Alderman IAcGoodwin, and vias passed unanimously by thas Council. The question of the resolution req sting the closing of "that portion of Willow Avenue lying between Blocks 1 and 21 Evelyn -Hills Addition,'+came up for hearing, and Alderman LlcGoodwin requested further time for study before making recommendation with preference to the request. There being no further bus=-ness,Alderman IiicGoodwin made a motion to adjourn, econded by Alderman Feathers, -which was passed unani ously by the Council, and the eclared the Council adjourned.
