Present: Mayor Powell M.Rhea, City Clerk J.W.McGehee, City Attorney Price Dickson, Fire C B'rl Skelton,and Aldermen; Richardson, Feathers, McGoodwin, Bohe, Williams, Kincaid, VRiite and Kent. Alderman Kent', chairman of the-audmting committee, reported that the bills had been audited and signed, and made a motion that they be allowed as approved, this motion was seconded by Alderman Richardson,and was passed unanimously by the Council. TT ailers Alderman Williams made a motion that no.more trailers be permitted to move into th to be -out City Park after this date, except bransients, and thay not be permitted to stay long b 6-15- than two weeks, and that occupants of all the trailers now in the park be notified in 19 1 w sting to vacate not later -than June 15th, 1951; this motion was seconded by Alderman F athers, and was passed unanimously by the Council. Alderman Feathers made a motion that the City elect to place all City employees under Fire Dept 111WOTKNIEN'S COMPENSATION"'insurance'; but since all Departments are ilready covered,except to be un- he Fire Department, this motion is* only intended to add the Fire Department to the list er Work- overed by WORKMENIS Compensation, and:.that'the-..City..pay>the'�diffdrence in the increased em' s Com-• ate of insurance over' the premium that is being paid on:thelpre"sent policy,tamounti:ignto 0231:00;.- this ,mot.ion•:•was, seconded by Alderman White, and was passed unanimously by the ouncil. 4,Alderman Bohe introduced an Ordinance, entitled "AAT ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CON- TRU�'ION OF ONE STORY ALL STEEL OR METAL BUILDINGS IN CERTAIN AREAS i IiIIQ THE CITY OF AYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS, REPEALING ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREVVITH, AND FOR CIPHER PURPOSES The Ordinance was read in its entirety by the Clerk, Alderman Williams made a motio that the rules be suspended and the Ordinance placed'on its second reading, this motion as seconded by Alderman Kent and was passed unanimously by the Council. The Clerk then read the Ordinance the seconds.time, after discussion, Alderman White made a motion that the -rules be'further suspended and the Ordinance placed on its bird and final reading, this motion was seconded by Alderman Williams, and was passed unanimously by the Council. The Clerk then read the Ordinance the third and final time. 'he Mayor then put the question,""shall the Ordinance pass?, and on roll call by the Perk,the following vote resulted; Ayes: Richardson, Feathers, McGoodwin, Bohe, Williams, 'incaid, White and Kent. And the Mayor declared the Ordinance passed, as'u-there were Ayes, and no Nays. Alderman White. made a motion.that-the emergency clause be adopted, this motion via seconded by Alderman Kent; and on roll call by the Clerk, the following vote resulted,; yes: Richardson, Feathers, MCGnodwin, Bohe, Williams, Kincaid, White and Kent. Nays:None And the Mayor declared the emergency claude adopted, as there were 8 Ayes, and no Nays. COPY OF ORDINANCE N0. 9-7-4. AN ORDII NCE AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF ONE STORY ALL STEEL OR METALUILIDNGS IN CERTAIN ARES WITHIN THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLR3 ARKANSAS, REPEALING ORDINANCES N CONFLICT HEREWTPH, AATD FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CTYY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS.: Section 1. On and after the effective date of this ordinance it shall be lawful to rect or construct one story all steel or metal buildings, which buildings shall have metal frames, metal wi0d ow sash, metal doors and floor space shall not exceed 2400 feet n area�but before said bulidings shall be constructed, plans and specifications and the ocation of such building on the lots and the -description of the lots shall be submitted o the City Engineer and �or Building Inspector -to determine that said building,when con- tructed, will comply with the terms of this section of this Ordinance and with Section 2 ereof. Section 2. The buildings authorized to be constructed under Section 1 of this rdinance may erected only within an area between the center line of any existing trac of the St.Louis San Francisco Railway Company within the City of Fayetteville.. Arkansas nd a line 75 feet from and.parall6l to said center line on either side of said track and Lying between the North line'of Meadow Street extended and a line 200 feet South of the outh line of Dickson Street. The Buildings as autrized in Section I hereof and in the area limited in this section shall be built not closer than ten feet to any other buildin and not clmser than ten feet to the side property line of the lot on which said building Ls located. Section 3. All ordinances;:or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby epealed, and it appearing that it is necessary that immediate construction of such a uilding be begun in order to provide the necessary facilities for the operation of the t.Louis San Francisco Railway Company within the -City of Fatyetteville, Arkansas, an emer ency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect rom and after its passage and'appr(bval. COPY OF ORDINANCE NO. 9 -7 -5 - AN ORDINANCE PLACING THE WEST THREE FUNDRED FEET OF BLOCK A, Iv?APLEWOOD ADDITT N N THE CITY OF FAYETrTEVILLE, ARKANSAS WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE FIRST FIRE ZONE, AND FOR THER PURPOSES: WHEREAS, Block A. of Maplewood Addition to the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas s bounded on the West by North College Avenue and'the Voest one hundred fifty feet of sa lock A. is presently within the limits of the first Fire Zome, and, WHEREAS, proposals have been made for the construction of buildings with off 'I� treet•parking for the benefit of customers of occupants of said buildings and if off street 1)'17 arking area are provided, proposed structures cannot,be erected on the West 150 feet of aid Block A, .and; WHEREAS, there are no buildings or structures located on the West 300 feet of aid Block A and the Council .finds and declares that the West 300 feet of said Block A i rimarily busihess property and that structures located thereon shmuld be constructed n accordance with building regulations applicable to buildings in the first fire zone. •'NO712TIEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, RKANSAS: Section l.'T he West 300 feet-o£_Blo.ck A of Maplewood Addition to the City of ayetteville, Arkansas is hereby �iholuded,'w thin the limits of the first fire zone of th ity If Fayetteville,. There being no further business, Alderman Feathers moved to adjmurn, seconded y Alderman Kincaid, which was passed unanimously by the Council, and the I.?ayor declared he Council adjourned.
