Alderman Kent, chairman of the Auditing committee, reported that the bmlls

Alderman McGoodwin introduced a RESOLUTION asking the State Highway Depar
ment to award the contract from HindsvIlle to Goshen at the eatliest possible moment,
Alderman Williams made a motion that the resolution be adopted; this motion was second*
by Alderman Kincaid, and was passed unanimously by.the Council.

WHEREAS, for many years the citizens of Madison and Washington Counties have worked
to secure a paved highway between Huntsville 'and-Fayettevillr'; and
tilhereas, the State'Highwai Department has called for bids for the construction of a
portion of said Highway.
NOW, THEREF013E3 BE IT BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTE-
VILLE, THAT:
The State Highway Department'proceed to award the contract from Hindsville to
Goshen at the earliest possible date.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this Resolution be forwarded to the Dire for
of Highways of the State of Arkansas; the Honorable Orval Faubus, Highway Commissioner
for this District; and the Honorable Sidney McMath, Governor of the State of Arkansas.

Alderman Williams reported that the Water Committee and `Pater Advisory Committee had been

opened the recommendation of' -the Committee that the Lake be opened -for Boating and fisking just
s soon as suitable facilities and management can be provided for, Alderman Kincaid made
motion that the recommendation of the Committee be ar)proved,'this motion was seconded by
Alderman Feathers, and was passed unanimously by the Council.
Alderman Bohe introduced an Ordinance authorizing the purchase of two tank car;
loads of oil for the Street Department, and for other purposes.
The Ordinance was read in its entirety by the Clerk, after discussion,Ald'erman
icliardsln made a motion that all rules be suspended, dnd the Ordinance passed, this moti
was seconded by Alderman McGoodwin;"and'on roll -call by the Clerk, the following vote was
ecorded;'Ayes: Richardson, Feathers, McGoodwin,'Bohe, Williams, Kincaid, White and Kent.

F OIL FOR THE ST BEET DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS, AND FOR OTIC R
URPOSES.
WHEREAS , T,,e Street Department of the Ciijy of Fayetteville, Arkansas is in
eed of two tank car loads (202OOOgallons) of oil by reason of the fact that oil is neede
or repairs to the city streets'and the -functions required of the Street Department canna
e maintained without the purchase of said oil. (MC -1 and IVIG -3 Cutback Asphalt)
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF

Section 1. There is hereby appropriated out of the Street Fund the sum of

Project After discussion of the bids Alderman Richardson made a motion that the City
Engineer contact U.S.PIPE & FOUNDRY CO. for confirmation on their delivery and if they
would guarantee delivery in 21 days, that the City Engineer be authorized to place the
order with them for $7,915.3,4, this motion was seconded by Alderman Williams, andJwas
passed unanimously by the Council.
There being no further business, Alderman Kincaid moved to adjourn, seconded
Alderman Kent, which was passed unanimously by the Council, and the Mayor declared the
Council adjourned.
