The City Engineer reported that'the description of the Deed from Geo.McKinn Wife, W.A.Cain & Wife'and J.W,Cain &'Wife to the City of Fayetteville covering a strip and 40 feet wide from a part of Lot 4, Block 11, Masonic -Addition ,forbe used by the Cit ,or Street purposes,was correct, and Alderman McGoodwin made a motion that the City accep he Deed, this motion was seconded by Alderman White, which was passed unanimously by the ouncil. There being no further business, Alderman McGoodwin moved to adjourn, seconde y Alderman Kent, -which was passed unanimously by the Council, and the Mayor declared the ;ouncil adjourned. Tie Mayor presented 'a"RESOLUTION requesting the Postoffice Department to give erious consideratyion to the construction and erlotion of a building suitable for present nd anticipated- needs of the Postoffice and' such other Federal agencies as are normally oused in Federal Buildings-inbluding the Fayetteville Division of the Federal Court for he Western District of Arkansas, after discussion, Alderman McGoodwin made a motion to trike out the last section of the Resolution, which was and that if it is more economi al £o utilize the present site of the Federal Building in the City of Fayetteville,'that he Postoffice Department give serious consideration to the utilization of said site.." this. motion was seconded'by Alderman"Kincaid, and on' roll call by the Clerk the fol- owing vote was recorded,•Ayes: McGoodwin, Williams, -Kincaid and Kent. WHEREAS, the City of Fayetteville recog Ezes the need for additional housing or the Postoffice Department and the various federal agencies which under normal condi- ions occupy space in Federal Buildings, and WHEREAS, present Federal Housing in the City of Fayetteville has been inade- uate for many years and a new Federal building is essential for the dispatch of normal usiness of the Postoffice and other Federal ageheies maintained in the City of Fayette- ille. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FA`_rET`EVIL That the Postoffice Department give serious consideration to the Constructi nd eretion of a building suitable for present and anticipated needs of the Postoffice a uch other Federal agencies as are normally housed in Federal buildings including the ayetteville Division of the Federal Court for the Western District of AY"kansas.
